+ Reps to the donors, sorry if I missed anyone

Nice. As a poker player used to looking at graphs of money, that's a pretty sweet looking line.

I understand that some people are disappointed. But I'm damn proud of what we all did.

This was a 100% grassroots money bomb, born right here on RPF, built from scratch, by volunteers with no budget.

Rand has $100,000+ more dollars to campaign with today than he had yesterday.

All things considered... only being September, having 17 candidates in the race including one that is sucking up all the attention, being the first money bomb and having to build up the website and social media accounts and promo material from nothing - I think $100k is not bad for 24 hours. And that's without adding the mailed in checks or the people that planned to donate tomorrow on a Friday pay day.

So, thank you to everyone that donated, and everyone that shared and helped promote. There were some that were amazing and shared everything that was posted. I think Orenbus kept a list of the larger Facebook pages that shared, which was a big help.

Without going on a rant, it was not always easy to get people to participate. It's easy to want a money bomb, but then it takes effort to make it happen. There is no money bomb fairy.

Not so much directed to the people here, that's what makes this place great. To everyone here that did anything to help, even small acts have a big effect and you should be proud of this too...

Also, I think of this one as like laying a foundation for the future.

Now that a lot of the initial work was done and connections made it should be easier to get off to a quicker start for the next one.

I nominate Jackie Moon for position of moneybomb fairy.... he already got perfect "fairy" name.

Also: On Facebook people who signed up for moneybomb started donating during debates...

Yeah, at the 24 hour mark the ticker feed was reset and appears to be showing the total since August 1st. It did cross $100k for the day though before it reset.

They took it down from the donation page after that, and we decided to take it down from the money bomb site to avoid confusion.

I just got an email from the campaign today about the moneybomb...oh well....I did contribute but went there this morning and no ticker so have no idea what was taken in.

Month to date I think

Is that number really shown somewhere? I don't see any ticker or number like that anywhere.

I think I'm getting taken in by a joke I just don't get. Some things don't really come across on the internet.

Not on Rand's site anymore. Someone has a site that somehow tracks contributions and has a ticker as well (referred to as the money bomb site) so people are probably getting their info from there.

Yeah, I had thought they might let it run through the weekend, but they took the literal definition of a money bomb as a one day, 24 hour event.

+Reps for donating though.

Even if it's not included in the 24 hour number, we might be able to look back and see that others are just getting the emails now and will donate also. So I think it's fair to include them too in the overall total raised like was done in money bombs of the past.

Yes. They may have had it coded to auto switch the feed at the 24 hour mark back to the running total overall. That caused the $704k number to be shown for awhile before they took it down completely.

We had hoped to leave the one that was on RandPaulMoneyBomb.com up through the weekend, but when they reset the feed it screwed up the numbers there also so we decided late last night to take it down to avoid confusion.
