To those who say it is not about Ron Paul winning the nomination

I'm saying that suggestion should not be made in this subforum. This subforum is for supporting Ron.

Can you not support Ron without being completely unrealistic about what is going to happen at the GOP convention? I voted for Ron, donated money to him, and gave a speech for him at my local caucus. I've been a fan of Ron for the last five years, and stating the obvious fact that Mitt Romney has wrapped up the nomination DOES NOT mean that I don't support Ron.

If you are saying that because you want people here to go do something else you would prefer to have them do, your purpose is to undermine this forum. I seem to recall we didn't much like it during Rand's run when people from other races came there and said people should leave it and go work for their candidates.

There is a chorus from people who have ulterior motives and regardless of your intellectual support for Ron Paul if your purpose here is only to get people to REmove their energies from Ron, that isn't support. People who want to continue to work for Ron's delegates and campaign shouldn't have to fight off those with ulterior motives in his own campaign forum. This forum is to SUPPORT them in those efforts.

Well, if was so obvious, you sure couldn't tell it from Ron's speech today.

No. My purpose is to make sure that people don't have a huge letdown when Romney wins the nomination in August. I'm trying to do people a favor by not getting their hopes up.

At this point, everyone knows the odds and the fact it would take something out of the ordinary for Ron to win. Harping on it is just raining on people's enthusiasm.

For the record, I do not have an "ulterior motive", nobody is "my" candidate, in fact the only reason I know of other candidates is because of this forum. I thought supporting Liberty candidates is what Ron wants people to do, did I miss something?

Exactly, the race is not over and there are people still fighting with all they have in them. Each little defeatist attitude passed around is a loss of delegates.
This is about pushing for Ron Paul 2012 until the fight is over, and it is not yet over.

Ron Pauls speach at the Texas convention had to have had a good impact on some. That is possitive attitude and that is how we win.

Perseverence: continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition.

Supporting liberty candidates is great, but there are subforums here to do that without trying to pull people from supporting Ron Paul to do it. This wasn't directed at you. There are Gary Johnson supporters who have been coming here since before Ron even declared he was running saying we should back GJ instead, there are Rand supporters who always liked him better than Ron thinking we should be pushing down candidate supporters INSTEAD of Ron, etc. I have no problem with supporting liberty candidates, I have donated to several. I have a problem using Ron's campaign subforum as a recruiting ground to persuade people to stop working for Ron, and work for others INSTEAD. People should be able to support Ron without fighting flank attacks in his own forum.
