Tipping for Ron Paul

EmpireNine, would you officially be selling the cards at $10 per 100? If so, I'll bring that info up tomorrow night at our meeting and let you know people's reponses! We were just planning to hand out the flyer, but I think the cards are a great idea. I can't personally vouch for buying some right now because Ron Paul just took all my extra money.

I can guarantee the cards would be $10 per 100 OR LESS.

As a part-time server, I can assure you...

THIS WILL WORK!

The idea of leaving a liberty card instead of a slim jim is good, because something larger is more likely to be thrown away....

but

what about a Tax Free Tips Act/ Ron Paul 2008 flyer? Can someone throw together something?

A flyer like that might get posted in the kitchen on a bulletin board, since it directly affects over half of a restaurant's employees.

Thanks for the input nevesis, it helps immensely coming from a server!

Count me in too! I've been trying to get a good flyer or something; cards would be great too.

I tried buying one a couple of times, but I always got a server error.

Oh well. :(

Did you try another browser? If I had to guess you were trying on Internet Explorer, which has so many issues even with simple processes. It could have been PayPal's fault too, entirely possible.

Try again, I promise it works!

Firefox.

P.S. And WHY do we in heaven's name have to provide so much personal info?

EDIT: Woah..nevermind...apparently I was visiting another Ron Paul stamp website.

EDIT2: Oh shit. Could that be a scam?

Yeah, I started RonPaulStampS.com awhile before the one without the S (I know because I almost bought both domains but decided one was enough).

They've been marketing their site pretty hard so I think its legit.

I was just thinking about this kind of thing.

Today when I went to pizza hut, I was thinking of leaving a large tip and a note that explained a bit about Ron Paul running for president and how he presented legislation intended to make tips tax-free.

Then I got thinking of having one that is about the size and shape of a dollar bill but it has general information, and use it every kind of trade. Cashiers who want to quietly promote Ron Paul could slip one in every time they make change or when they give receipts.

What do you guys think?

That is a VERY good idea. I'll look into the price of that size, but I think you might be onto something there. It would really make an impact if its slipped in with the other bills.

Thanks for sharing!

Bump from 09-26-2007:

With Ron Paul's introduction of the Tax Free Tips Act on the House floor yesterday, in which he asks other congressmen to support a bill to abolish taxing tips, I think we have an opportunity to spread some word of mouth grassroots support via the entire service industry.

When Ron Paul supporters go to dinner, we should mention that Ron Paul is running for President and one of the things he wants to do is eliminate taxing tips, and at the end of dinner leave a generous tip (25%+) to the waiter/waitress/bartender/etc along with a liberty card.
http://www.libertytalk.com/liberty_card_dp_banner.php

If waiters/waitresses/bartenders start receiving 25% tips from Ron Paul supporters more and more often, this will undoubtabley get them talking to one another and possibly start some more grassroots buzz going.

These hard working Americans can be a 10 hour a day voice for Ron Paul when they talk to customers.

Besides the dollars are just Federal Reserve notes that will be devalued 25% by next year anyway =)

The way I see it, one or two $20 bills stamped with RonPaul2008.com on it, paperclipped to the bill and to a Ron Paul card with the Tax Free Tips Act info on it, this will get the servers attention and the word of mouth spread will be powerful enough for the people on the inside to be converted and THEY will do the postings in the kitchens and break rooms for us.

Money talks.

Introducing the Tax Free Tips Act
Ron Paul Speech to Congress, September 25, 2007

http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/document.php?id=949

Madam Speaker, I rise to help millions of working Americans by introducing the Tax Free Tips Act. As the title suggests, this legislation makes tips exempt from federal income and payroll taxes. Tips often compose a substantial portion of the earnings of waiters, waitresses, and other service-sector employees. However, unlike regular wages, a service-sector employee usually has no guarantee of, or legal right to, a tip. Instead, the amount of a tip usually depends on how well an employee satisfies a client. Since the amount of taxes one pays increases along with the size of tip, taxing tips punishes workers for doing a superior job!

Many service-sector employers are young people trying to make money to pay for their education, or single parents struggling to provide for their children. Oftentimes, these workers work two jobs in hopes of making a better life for themselves and their families. The Tax Free Tips Act gives these hard-working Americans an immediate pay raise. People may use this pay raise to devote more resources to their children's, or their own, education, or to save for a home, retirement, or to start their own businesses.

Helping Americans improve themselves by reducing their taxes will make our country stronger. I, therefore, hope all my colleagues will join me in cosponsoring the Tax Free Tips Act.
