Tim Pawlenty Tim Pawlenty

To phrase differently what others have been saying in this thread: The GOP deserves to be punished for the Contract with America failure and the Bush years. They will not learn their lesson unless they embrace true conservatism or are subjected to failure after failure politically.

Tim Pawlenty plays Ice Hockey. There are no quarterbacks in Ice Hockey. And no "I" in team. Think about it.

He simply parrots lots of Ron Paul's talking points.

I keep hearing where our rights come from. NO ONE talked about that back in the 2008 race except Ron when trying to explain why we needed to safeguard our civil liberties.

Pawlenty is a joke. I doubt he could even win Minnesota in the general election. The media will continue to push him as a front runner. He won't do well in Iowa either.

I agree with this for the most part. I caucused for Ron in Iowa in 2008. Believe me, I want him to be Pres, but we have to be realistic if we don't want Obama back. Attack me if you want, but I think Pawlenty is going to make a serious run, especially if Rombot skips Iowa. Imagine an Iowa race ending with Paul and Pawlenty as the top 2!
Huckabee will either be 1st or 2nd in Iowa.

Might makes right

One of those things that was said that honestly makes me embarrassed to say I was at cpac

Pawlenty = Establishment tool.

Which is why now, for no good reason and all of sudden, the official organs of the state, both "left" and "right" wings, are now promoting him.

Got to line up "acceptable" choices so that the continuity of government can be maintained.

its not about "not wanting obama back"

if the republican nominee is anyone else besides Ron Paul it does not matter whether obama wins or not.

Yup precisely. Hell I'd be rooting for Obama to win against most of them, namely Newt, Huckster, and Romney...maybe even campaigning for Obama shudders. A milktoast republican getting elected would probably be the death knell to the tea party and set our movement back for years to come. We have more of chance convincing and bringing people over to our side with Obama in office. If the establishment GOP lose again, suddenly people start giving the Pauls and their ideas a second look.

I will not vote a Pawlenty against Obama ticket. I'd rather cash out and move to Paraguay til the revolt is over here when Obama wins. Two people can actually beat Obama or have a chance, both last named PAUL. Rommels "IS" the nominee, Huckabee knows it, Palin knows it and the others are simply flanks for him in debates. The sooner you guys realize its fixed the better. Ron will get two questions in a debate and then they will focus on Mitt and ONLY whomever the second person is that emerges (ex Ron). Mark my words, it will be the same playbook again. Mitt Romney is the nominee. Odds are like Secretariat running in a 4,000 claiming race and losing. Romney would have to die, quit or found to be gay to lose it.
Romney's stock has went way down from 2007. He'll never get tea party support, and the only social conservatives he can count on are mormons. Huckabee is the man to beat.

After having been exposed to Ron Paul, all the other contenders just seem so lame. Yeah, Pawlenty hits some conservative notes, but in the end, it's probably just lip service. He's got "saying what I need to say to win, do whatever I want to do when elected" written all over him. His foreign policy seems to continue the Bush-Obomba theme, which must stop.

"when it comes to [standing up against] bullies, might makes right". There's definitely an aspect of this statement I agree with. On a personal basis, standing up against a bully is sometimes necessary. While physicality is a last resort only as a matter of defense, strength of backbone, courage to speak up, etc., are pre-requisites to self-respect.

However, in the US political realm, question: who is the bully? who is bigger and is sticking its nose where it doesn't belong, looking for a fight? And who, perchance, is bullying the US, and in what way, to deserve government authorized military might brought against it?

"Might makes right" -- I prefer "right makes right"

According to his supporters on the Tim Pawlenty Forum, most ron paul supporters will get on the pawlenty bandwagon.

I think we should mass mail bibles and a copy of the patriot act to all known ron paul supporters. Once they relize that morals and security come before freedom, they are sure to get on the PAWLENTY BANDWAGON

I guess if they are Tim Pawlenty supporters they don't know true conservatism from fake, so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised.

The thing is, we DO know the difference.

Surprises me that there even IS a Tim Pawlenty forum..... (.... must check out....)

edit, well, that didn't take long.

It has two people?

Worse and worse, it is part of a site called 'election ink' and it has forums for a bunch of possible gop candidates, including 'Ron Pual'.... and 'Ron Pual's forum doesn't have a moderator.......

.....Josh, this is where one of those falling on the floor kicking feet and laughing emoticons would come in handy.......

by the way, did you notice the Pawlenty logo and slogan? Clearly we MISSED one when brainstorming for Ron. How could we have failed to come up with:

Security in our lifetime!
