As for whether or not its ethical, sure there are unethical uses. But don't tell me there's never been anyone that you wanted to mindf**k. Or think of it this way. Say if a bunch of jack booted thugs were about to arrest someone for peacefully protesting against the coming martial law and someone beamed into their heads "Remember your oath of office. Protect and serve. Defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. That includes the men that gave you these unlawful orders."

The inadequacies of the medical industry aside, what people are describing are symptoms, and Doctors will look for causes. There are very well known medical conditions which have the same symptoms that these effected people describe. Thus the most likely diagnosis is a known medical condition, not a government conspiracy.

Logically, there is no reason that the government would want to target most of these people, especially on an ongoing basis. Much more likely that it is a medical disorder. For some reason, acceptance of the logical and likely reason for these symptoms is difficult. It's likely that difficulty accepting is part of the condition itself for some people.
