They know nothing of his policies.. But boy can he debate?

Basically I saw this on 3 new facebook posts.. "he debates so well..'

Did you not care about his policies
They do not care about his past issues
They don't care about is lying cheating

He just communicate very well. Just like obama..
Hitler was good speaker too.

Newt is awful at debating. He never actually answers questions, attacks the moderaters, and gets off topic on half of the questions.

He is only good at debating because the media gave him that title. There is no substance to 90% of his answers.

He has had some of the most breathtaking nosedives of anybody in the race. A compilation Youtube would be devastating. Start with Ron Paul's "I went" which was a smackdown by a truly great debater. If that had been the clip played on the MSM repeatedly the next day, Newt would be finished.

He can only debate because he is a sociopath. He will say anything impossible or not to win the 'debate' and promise things he can't deliver without compunction, not even vaguely rooted in reality....

Take his new 'gold commission'. EVERY problem he verbally 'solves' has a huge government solution. His gold commission is the classic 'we have a problem, let's have a committee STUDY it!' BS. Because it would stop him from his big government solutions. That alone makes it clear it is a sop and not a sincere attempt to address these issues.

Similarly, he says he will 'solve' social security essentially by throwing more money at it, but the primary problem with social security to begin with is that it doesn't have enough money which is HIS FAULT. If those 'balanced' budgets are going to be credited to him, then the fact that the 'projected balancing' was from raiding social security needs to be laid at his door as well. And of course, Ron voted against it.

But when you can SAY anything because you have NO shame in lying, yeah, you can 'win' a debate. But it is just words.

I disagree. It isn't Ron's style.

What the campaign needs to do, imo, is to release an ad that just shows polls of Dr. Paul matching up to Obama. The biggest part of this election is "electability" and "beating Obama". The GOP voters don't think Paul can beat Obama bc they are being told that by Fox.

This would solve a lot of the problems.

Newt is a narcissistic sociopath and people are so juvenile to buy into it.

These perps that booed the Golden Rule, want to see a debate between Barack and Newt.

They want to win at any cost

But they don't "win" if newt or Obama is elected. Newt or Obama win. These voters get screwed either way, except they put "the winner's" name into a ballot.

Dont hate on other candidates because they beat Paul... Newt and Romney are good Salesmen...The connect with the people and SELL their message, whether its right or wrong is a different story.. Paul has to SELL IT and connect with the voters....

You could have the cure for cancer sitting in your basement, but if yuo dont SELL it , it doesnt matter...

Ron paul needs to SELL his electebility and SELL his Foreign policy.... People want to FEEL protected under his Foreign policy

SELL SELL SELL

I agree that Ron needs to work on his delivery. He has had some really great debate performances and interviews where he gets his full message out even without a lot of time. Then there are other times, and I think Thursday had a few moments, where he simply wasn't as sharp and wasn't able to deliver his positions as completely and clearly as I'm sure he would have liked. We all know his positions, platform, and plans rather well, but imagine being a person who knew little to nothing (or worse yet only what the media has told them) about Dr. Paul and had to gauge not just authenticity and conviction but naturalism and confidence that is expected of a leader. I'm really glad that we have Doug Wead and Rand Paul making the media circuits too because they definitely communicate in a stronger manner.

I don't hate Newt because he beat Ron. Newt is Newt. Find me something likable in his record.

He has a 10 day period here to sharpen things up. I think being off the radar between now and FL will give the campaign and the candidate a chance to analyze what has worked and change the things that have not worked. The possibility of Paul emerging as a sleeper candidate is there, but it will take some growth and change within the campaign to achieve that.

To be a good debater, you basically have to be a scumbag who only says what is politically convenient. Ron will never be a "great" debater.

SC's results were predicted, as are Florida's. No worries. Paul is Paul. Gingrich and Santorum CAN'T win...let them continue chipping away at Romney on our behalf. Delegates/money bombs/grassroots/US knowing the issues and educating voters DIRECTLY will forward the movement.

Attacking the moderator won't work in a debate against Obama. Newt is preaching to the choir when he does it.

By the definition I keep seeing here, that's probably true.

I've begun to think that the only way to get any after-debate media is if Paul says something REALLY counterintuitive to the MSM and his opponents. If he does it in a somewhat timid, fragmented but scholarly way, it will get played back repeatedly by MSM the next day for smear. Trick is, if it has unalloyed truth, a certain portion of viewers will hear the truth and hop on board the freedom train. This is exactly how Giuliani slam 2007 (the reason I'm here) went down. His Iran answer to Bachmann correlated with poll increases in the following days. Stuff the media can attack him directly on ensures interview requests in major media.

We've seen over and over again that a commanding, polished and assured performance by Ron Paul in a debate absolutely assures he'll be blacked out the next day. I think he's better off taking the meandering, intellectual approach with lots of unpragmatic truth bombs.

Newt has a lot of practice with combative debate from his time as speaker of the house. Too bad people don't have enough brain cells to simultaneously admire his speaking skills and analyze what he is saying.

this, as we all know, is a HUGE problem for the likes of the movement.

Newt is good at platitudes, and platitudes are what most people in this society have been fed and crave. :(

Ron Defender of the Constitution Paul could whoop Barak "constitutional lawyer" Obombya in a debate. Ron is impeccable when it comes to his record and incorruptable when it comes to his principles. nobody else can claim what we can with our candidate.

we've GOT to get that message out there. those "movie-esque" ads need to start promoting Ron Paul: The President, imho.
