The worst part is: the phone polls were right

It looks like Ron Paul is getting exactly around where the scientific polls were showing him at. The whole argument that his support was not reflected in the phone polls seems to have failed. I wish he could have at least gotten better than expected. That's all I wanted. Just to prove them wrong.

it was never a strong argument. A lot of the "young" people without landlines just don't vote. Seniors on Social Security and Medicare pretty much always vote.

However, the good news is the poll numbers have gone up. Dont you remember the 1 and 2%?

This does not bode well for New Hampshire. I feel like maybe we were deluding ourselves. 5th place is just terrible. I want to throw up.

I thought the phone polls had him around 7-8%. Iowa is very rural anyways so the distortion between phone and actual % isnt too far off. I suspect NH to be alot different. Expect Paul to get around 15%.

Only 67% of the results are in and he's not exactly trailing incredibly far behind McCain or Thompson, and is ahead of Giuilani by a bunch. I still reckon he'll get 4th by the end of the night, so long as the Thompson wave dies down (I have no idea where this support came from considering his polling, to be honest.) If he pulls this in Rear End, Iowa (sorry, Iowans) he should pick up in NH.

Don't let 76k people piss you off when the vote isn't even counted yet.

We have yet begun to fight.

eh i dont think we can do anything with 5th place.

nobody in other states will vote for somebody in 5th because they feel their votes won't count.

i hate to be negative but this is probably all we got.

i'll just have to ignore politics from now on because it's true......you can't beat the system.

The polls weren't entirely right, if they were Thompsons would be lower.

The problem was all the old people that showed up, the MSNBC polls showed that most RP supporters were 18-25, yet more voters were 45 and older. A blizzard would have been great for us.

There was a central computer tabulating the votes, no way to verify officially.

I don't trust it.

15 percent sucks. I'm sorry but that just ruined it for me. If that's the best we can do, then I don't know if my heart can keep going on with this. I've dedicated so much time and energy into this that I can't stand to watch it all crumble now. This is terrible.

Polls not so right on the others though... McCain may pull a third out of this.

Give it time, we don't know whats going on down there yet.

Even if nobody votes for Paul I'm sticking with him, the reason is .. he is right. We need to educate people on liberty and freedom before someone like Paul could ever win.. however that being said, Paul is a great teacher.

If your upset and angry about this and want to do something about it, sign up for the Free State Project http://www.freestateproject.org because Ron Paul is our first chance at achieving liberty in America but there are other plans as well.
