The world is cheering for Obama, everyone from Egypt to South Africa. Are we libertarians going to be pushed out of the way for good? Yes, I believe so. The libertarian ideology of free markets, self guidance and regulation, sovereignty, and small government(and no government to you anarchists, we're all libertarians) grew, but is now dying. The same people plus more inspired by Dr. Paul are the only ones wanting to keep this ideology.

As we see today on November 5th that the world is in a movement. A movement towards globalism, a strong central authority, and excessive regulations. In the boom and bust cycle, it appears that people can not fix their own mistakes. The essence of capitalism is dying out. The world is voting to change the government.
But, what change? Getting rid of these grotesque trade agreements change? Getting rid of the central bank(s) diluting our currencies to only benefit special interests, change?(As we've seen with these 3 or 4 bailouts; I lost count).Ending the regulations on medicine, change? Ending the oligopoly of power on the political system change?

No, change today is only serving to get rid of the evil "white man." Now, it's no doubt that minorities have been oppressed in the past. But to believe now that we have to elect a president because of his skin color, saying that it's inspirational? This is the danger of excessive nationalism. We all know that the Dems have been in charge for two years, and they voted with Bush on numerous amounts of things, like the Iraq War.


What do we do now? I don't know, I have no choice but to have a high tolerance level. For now, I find it hopeless to restore the Republican Party,or trying to get the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party popular. We'e tried this year, we must now try a new goal and that is to secede. We need to form our own country with libertarian values, we must form a new constitutional republic. Our country has done things that reach from absolutism to socialism and fascism. It may seem defeatist, but how can I live in a nation of sheep?

Those are just my opinions, this isn't a debate thread. What do you think?

We will be temporarily silenced. Eventually, the system will get so fucked up that someone who understands laissez-faire will have to step in and "fix" things. What we are seeing is history repeating itself. I saw something years ago about the cycle of government and, although I can't remember it verbatim, it went something like this:

Government progress/digress according to a set cycle. They go from slavery to a republic to a democrary to socialism/facism to a dictatorship to anarchy and back to slavery again.

Once again, the sheep metaphor is a fallacy because we have been secularized by Charlton Heston and the movie "Moses" into believing that a shepherd tends from the front of the flock. Shepherds have to govern from the middle of the flock to keep the strong members from getting too far ahead and the stragglers from getting too far behind.
A better metaphor is the empty box of Federal goods that people continue to follow after unto their demise into an unfathomable abyss.

Why make a nickel on the local level when the Federal government is taxing a penny of it to spend a buck?

I'll have to disagree that the U.S. is different as regards historical cycles. How many of those unalienable rights are already, for practical purposes, gone? Hmm, 1st Amendment - you can say what you want as long as it can't be regarded as 'hate speech' or as long as you're in one of those new handy-dandy "free speech zones" laid out by government. Let's see - 2nd Amendment - we still have the 'right' to keep and bear arms - as long as the government says we can (permits) or as long as it isn't somewhere that the government doesn't want us to (think state and federal buildings, schools, etc.). ..and, of course, the is list goes on. The 'rights' outlined in the Consittution and Bill of Rights were already under attack and, thanks to the USA Patriot Act, most have been outright gutted depending on the whim of those 'in charge'.

Never make the mistake of thinking that this Nation cannot or will not follow in the steps of those that have gone before. We're hard on the trial of other once-great nations such as Rome, ancient Greece, etc.

An unalienable right can't be taken away. It exists beyond an idea. That is the significance of a natural right. Natural rights are more solid than civil rights in that they reduce down like DnA to the human soul. Our Founding Fathers were defining what is undeniably known by every human conscience whether one be a king or a peasant.
Any violation of this self-evident truth was deemed an offense against God Himself. This gave our Founding Fathers justification to declare the king of England a tyrant thus making it possible for us to divorce ourselves out from under his rule.

Ever notice how some cities are never as "liberal" as the self-proclaimed upper crust of those cities try to make it out to be?

There are people I never even imagined having a brain who wrote in Ron Paul.


Sheeple, and I use the term a lot, are never as sheeplistic as you think. Often I am surprised as much as disappointed. Yes there are drooling gigglers but they do not make up the majority.

As for "turning" people as the term goes, this is very difficult but not impossible. Everywhere I worked I left a trail of people trained in the use of firearms, and was never drummed off a job site for it. Yes there are morons but if we allow our perceptions to isolate us, we self-fulfill the prophecy.

All you can do is reach those you can, and wave goodbye to the truly lost.
