Can anyone take a picture of their newspaper? I wasn't able to pick one up today because I didn't see any when I went to the grocery store to buy Thanksgiving stuff. I'd really like to see how it looks in the paper. Thanks in advance.

They hand this out in flight, right? I remember getting the USA today when I travel. I hope that's still the case. :D

Not only that, but almost every major hotel chain gives a copy of the USA to its guests and puts a copy in the lobby.

Mr. Lepard,

I got my USA Today on the way home from work tonight. I am so jealous that I will never be able to ever do anything that cool. Thank you very, very much for your dedication.

Just in case you guys didn't read my other post about this...

We are on vacation on the eastern shore of VA and now in VA Beach today and through the weekend.

We tried to find a copy of the USA Today in numerous shops, stopping at CVS's, hotels, bookshops etc. No one had a copy, just leftovers from the day before. It wasn't until we went into the Hilton in VA BCH that we found out that the truck delivering the area's papers had had an accident. No USA today's for all of Hampton Roads area and up the eastern shore.

We called a friend down in Charlotte, NC and he got the last copy in a box and is holding on to it for us.

Can anyone independently confirm why these papers didn't get distributed??

You can buy them at McDonald's (outside) and at post offices where they have all the freebie magazines (also outside).

I believe the ad also had a very important purpose of reaching those who do not spend much time online. I don't think someone that never heard of him will instantly go online, after seeing the ad, to donate money...but perhaps they will start looking into what this "Ron Paul guy" is all about.

Millions of people saw this ad...it will have an effect for sure. People are busy getting ready for Thanksgiving tonight, or were traveling to where they are spending the holiday. Tons of people aren't even at home with their own computers...no way did this ad not have an effect....I can only imagine how many people that never heard of Ron now have seen this full page ad...now when they see the Ron Paul signs all over the country, they will know what he stands for and who he is.

This is all the more reason for us to get out there tomorrow (Black Friday) and give people the one-two punch....More RON PAUL! This guy is EVERYWHERE!!

The time is now.

koooooooooo

I can re-host the pdf once I get home.

Hey man, your face looks very familiar, and we haven't even met.

Maybe you should change the pic before people get the idea that you're not really just a random man-on-the-street who happens to support RP?

The wrong people may notice and make fun of it - "I'm tellin' ya!" ;-)

RON PAUL - USA TODAY

I made USA Today sales go up by 2! Money well spent!

Wed/Thurs Edition Nov. 21, 2007

USA Today Ad - Official Press Release

One Ron Paul Supporter Foots Bill For Full Page Ad in ‘USA Today’

Hopes well-timed and well-placed ad will wake America up

Boston MA – November 21, 2007 – Larry Lepard, a 50-year old investment manager, Harvard Business School MBA, and Ron Paul supporter, is bringing the concept of “grassroots” to a whole new level. After collaborating on design and copy with a spontaneously generated team of Paul supporters on ronpaulforums.com, Lepard invested approximately $85,000 of his own money to send a message to the voting public: “Ron Paul is the best hope America has to restore the Constitution and get our country back on track.”

The full page ad, due for publication on Nov. 21 in USA Today, is entitled “An Open Letter to the American People,” and reads as though it were penned by the Founding Fathers. In it, they admonish modern day citizenry for not heeding the founders’ original warnings. Each advisory is then followed by a forthcoming solution if Ron Paul is elected as President. Issues such as entangling foreign alliances, government corruption, excessive taxation and preserving national sovereignty are emphasized.

Lepard followed the political career of Congressman Ron Paul for over 20 years by subscribing to his newsletters, donating to his congressional races, and attending speeches at economic forums. “Over the years, I learned to admire both his positions and his integrity. He struck me as the ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington’ type,” says Lepard. When Dr. Paul announced his candidacy for President back in March of ’07, Lepard had already donated to Paul’s exploratory committee.

Lepard, husband and father of three, is gravely concerned about the prevailing pre-emptive war paradigm, as well as what he views as the loss of civil liberties as the US Constitution is continually decimated. “I view this expenditure as an investment in the future of this country and of my children. Right now, it is David vs. Goliath. This ad is my way of throwing a stone…very hard and very well aimed…at the forehead of overbearing government. We’ll see if it hits the target.”

Ron Paul is a 10-term Republican Congressman from the 14th District of Texas. Dubbed by many as the Champion of the Constitution, his campaign has recently shocked media pundits with unexpected fundraising feats. Most recently, grassroots efforts netted $4.2M in one 24 hour period this past November 5th, with $8.5M being raised so far this quarter. Paul is gaining in the polls and may have more money on hand than so-called “top-tier candidates” such as John McCain. The Ron Paul campaign had no involvement in the creation or funding of the USA Today advertisement.

I posted an answer to your first post, it'd be easy to miss.

Did you ever contact the hotel again or a store nearby?

If you check with whichever establishments get the paper
in the area of the hotel,

they might be able to tell you if a main distribution truck crashed,
or just the local delivery van.

Man I am so curious on how many more USA Today's were sold because of Ron Paul supporters...I couldn't find a copy yesterday so I missed out :(

Don't know, but if you really want one, they're still out there. It was a 2-day edition. Otherwise, maybe get up at 4am tomorrow, wait for the paper guy at a gas station, and bum a return off of him.

After Thanksgiving dinner, I showed this ad to my fiances parents and a few other people...they took a copy home ( I grabbed 3 copies when I bought them, sorry, but I am showing them to people at least), and I just created 3 new Ron Paul fans from this ad....her mom read the ad, and said "I agree with everything on here".

They had never heard of Ron Paul, and I used this ad to show them who he was....they just left 5 minutes ago with the ad in hand...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I think I know what happened, it happens to me. I keep hitting preview post till I get what I want then I forget to hit submit reply and go on the the new posts and therefore it never registers. IMO. Isn't it a shame that USA Today didn't take our advice and increase their circulation 25%.

"I am somewhat wishing Ron Paul never walked into my life. Apathetic ignorance is much more STRESS-FREE."

Ha ha:D

Yeah, I was aware of him for months, then about a week ago the YouTube videos got me like a fever and now it's like Ron Paul has always been here. I'm on the forum, at dailypaul, doin' searches and checkin' YouTube all the time and it's like PIZZA to me:p

And I'm fucking Canadian!

Ron looks different to me, now. It's like a kind of weird thing. Before, he looked like a normal guy to me, and now he looks like the President. I've never felt like this about anybody in politics, before...it's like...ah, I can't explain it:o

I totally get it. I am Canadian too, sid! As I said before on this thread, I am so impassioned about Ron Paul, I even paid for a FaceBook advertisement to promote the November 5th event! You can see it here.

What we need to do, Sid, is to support Connie Fogal, leader of the Canadian Action Party. She is this closest thing we have to Ron Paul. I don't agree with everything she says, but at the very least, this party recognizes the problems that RP does. Their solutions might need some help though ;-)

Here she is talking about the NAU debacle: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1355300745194023737
