The TRULY ***Official*** 2024 Election Season thread

Post-election scenarios:

The machine wins and installs their new Kamala puppet. A growing percentage of the population finally realizes their precious elections are rigged. The outrage is palpable. The regime uses the discord to further clamp down on dissent. Censorship grows to a new high. The FBI, IRS, ATF, DHS, and several other alphabet agencies ramp up their targeting of American citizens. If/when there are revolts, the National Guard is called in to quell uprisings. Foreign wars escalate and domestic dissidents are labeled a threat to world democracy. Martial law is declared in specific areas. Rewards are given to those who turn in dissidents (sometimes, those rewards are simply not being locked up yourself). This all culminates with massive loss of life globally.

The machine senses that the juice isn't worth the squeeze to install their puppet. The deep state spends their time instead, hiding evidence, securing power, and shielding themselves from losing power. Trump wins, but loses the House and Senate. His appointments get caught up in a political nightmare. The economy finally tanks as bankers allow the debt bubble to pop on his watch. Sensing the foreign threats from our financial weakness, Trump ramps up the military spending. Terrorist attacks begin thanks to the diversity that's been flooding our borders. Federal law enforcement picks up dramatically - both on illegals and the local populations. Those without papers will be rounded up and whisked away for our safety. Supply chains break down and food becomes scarce. This all culminates with massive loss of life, wealth and liberty.

Joy/Joy!

I think the whole thing will be a big nothing. Trump is clearly on track to win. The leftys will loot and burn a few walmarts and complain online but nothing serious will happen. Trump's second presidency will be a lot like his first. A lot of big talk, but no real action. At least the overseas wars will end.

That would be ideal, but I'm afraid his first year will look more like his last year of his last term. Straight up insanity resulting in massive loss of life, wealth and liberty.

Chicken in the rough ?

It was one of the US's first chain restaurants out of OKC back in the 30s.

It was a half fried chicken, shoestring potatoes and biscuits with honey.

It was called "in the rough" because it was served with no silverware, to all be eaten by hand.

It was also patented, so if you served the same thing, you had to call it something different, like "In The Ruff"

I bet you're a real upper at dinner parties... :tears:

I doubt it. I'm sure he will be more interested in petty revenge against those he feels have slighted him. Some people will probably end up in prison that might not totally deserve it. But the economy will probably be ok, the wars will end and not much else will happen. The guy is morally repugnant to me, but his first term was fairly boring and normal overall. I guess that is the best we can hope for.

If Trump wasn't such a chicken shit he could easily prevent the Democrats from cheating by simply exposing all their dirty little secrets. Instead, he'd rather protect them because deep down, he doesn't want any of them to be taken down.

Jesus, dude. What part of "none of the above none of the above" escaped your notice in your rush to think totally binary and make everyone else do the same?

I'm not living in your world, wherever the hell that is.

He's living in reality. Sorry you want to continue the fantasy world. The possibilities for the next administration are completely binary at this point. ONE of these TWO people is going to be nominating the agency heads and appointing judges. I know you don't like that reality, but it's the reality in which we live. None of us like that, but AF has at least accepted that.

The fantasy is the stubborn belief that the two faces of this one Uniparty coin aren't the same coin. The fantasy is that Janus will treat you any better if you never let the monster turn its other face your way.

For the nine millionth time - the two sides fight amongst themselves for power. Neither of them wants to give power back to the people, but they fight like hell against each other to control it. As comforting as it may be, there isn't some master script that they're both working from - they are both following their own incentives to control the power. But in that struggle between the two sides, there are some advantages that can be gained in the pandering. Personally, I'd rather have someone that panders to the America first crowd than someone who panders to the anti-human death cult crowd, but that's just me. We've seen how judicial appointments and regulatory agency heads can rein in overreach.

My biggest concern from a Trump victory is not what he'll do as a matter of course, but the response he'll be reacting to from the left.

And each of those steps forward comes amidst two steps back.

For the nine millionth time, liberty cannot be maintained this way. If it could be, we wouldn't have taken nine million steps backward just in my lifetime.

I do not care to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, and I don't care how important those deck chairs are to you. If I can't get help fixing the big damned hole in the damned hull, I'll still try and fail to do it myself because those deck chairs don't mean shit to me. However you arrange them, they still won't be there long; the deck is nearly awash. We may both be on fool's errands, but at least patching the breach would save the ship if it could be done.

We need a yugely great SCOTUS full of the bestest people when we burn the Constitution and consign the institution to the dustbin of history. We are all Nero now, fiddling with our lyres while the empire burns.

I don't know where all this righteous indignation comes from for sure. But it must be your state of denial, because it certainly isn't because your plan will do a damned thing for any of us.
