I have to admit, watching Walz cry today put a smile on my face. It almost made having to vote for Trump worth it.

Or worse, falling into crimethink.

Better they should keep their minds on their labors, and leave matters of the state, to the state.

We should all still know where this whole shebang is heading, to various extents of knowledge, but at least try to enjoy the ride in the short term. Presumably, you have been attuned to the trajectory for a good long time and have "girded your loins" according to your priorities and means.

Disagree with Malice here (and Orwell). They actually live in a perpetual future.

In A Conflict of Visions, Thomas Sowell explains that the 'Unconstrained Vision' sees the world not as it is, but as they would like it to be. Quite literally, what can be unburdened by what has been (or what is). So, when you're living in a fantasy world that doesn't exist yet, anything you write, say, or think today is just a way to manifest the future you imagine.

Those with a constrained vision see this as being detached from reality or any sort of historical truth. Those with the unconstrained vision see any opposition as uncaring, heartless, or just plain evil.

I always remembered a response from a high ranking member of the opposing party after a loss. Was there a response that I missed? Schummer seems to be in hiding.
 
When a City has the majority of a States Population, they should be considered a friendly territory that can have their own rule of law. Anyone choosing to live there does so knowing they have no federal protections and abide by the laws of the territory. People living in that territory do so freely with the knowledge that they have no right to voting in Federal Elections nor can they be recipients of any Federal monies and or entitlements.

There is no sane reason why a few cities/territories can dictate what the massive country does.
