The "TikTok ban" goes beyond TikTok. It is another huge step toward total control.

Yes, they did. A bit disappointed in the true conservatives.

The whole thing is creepy. I didn't pay much attention to it because I never thought it would get this far. It's such a blatant, no-brainer violation of the 1st amendment.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Fascism and its associated jackbootery can be a conservative form of government.

I'm not surprised in the least that our heroes in the court upheld this nonsense....

That is who they are.

All you have to do is say the magic words "national security", and the Constitution is null and void.

Perhaps "conservative" is not the best word to use, but it is the common description. Better to say the members of the Supreme Court who tend or claim to be constitutionalists or originalists.

I never used it, but my son just told me it's back up and running. I guess Trump gave them assurances that they wouldn't be prosecuted by his administration.

The golden age of america begins tomorrow. Trump is a real unifier.

Just making sure this didn't get hidden, being the last post on the page...

I guess the whole "Tic Toc Ban" thing lasted 14 hours.

So it looks like Trump is going to require 50% US ownership. I would prefer 100% myself. But good enough.

I don't have a TikTok account so I don't have a conflict of interest (unlike the META shareholders in congress)

I'm arguing against the ban based on principles and attacking the false CCP-threat narrative by demonstrating that the USG lacks all concern for genuine national security threats. Their actions (or non-action) on the border belies their claim that TT is a national security threat. They don't give a damn about US national security.

The fact is that this ban had no legs whatsoever until the war in Gaza became extremely unpopular thanks to footage going viral on TikTok. Mitt Romney said it explicitly. The head of the ADL said it explicitly.

This isn't a conspiracy theory. It's a conspiracy right in front of your face.

Also, the language of this bill was intentionally vague. All they have to do moving forward is claim that Elon/X or Rumble are "under the influence or direction" of one of the "hostile nations" and they could force a sale or closure.

Regardless of whether you use, like, love or hate TikTok I'm begging you to think one step ahead.

The federal government is not your friend and Trump will not be in power forever. Imagine this power under president AOC. A bit less comforting, right?

This is a bad law done for bad reasons done by bad people.

You shouldn't trust them anymore than you do the CCP.
