The Super Bug Out Jeep!!

Hopefully I'll be able to build one some time in the future. For now, I'm trying to figure out a way to sleep 2 people in the Cherokee comfortably without removing seats. I'm thinking I'll have some kind of tent that goes over the rear hatch, and then a raised sliding platform that extends out the back a couple fe

I did... it's pretty cool, but I don't know if it's $100,000 cool.

These are a lot cheaper, but I still don't see dropping as much money on a tent as I spent on the Jeep. http://www.autohomeus.com/gallery/jeep.php
There are also quite a few trailer tents available, but from what I've read, the teardrop trailers actually get better gas mileage and there's more room and no set up required.

For now, I'm thinking about doing something like this:

As I'm sure you know, there isn't quite enough room to sleep in the back of a Cherokee, so I need a way to extend the "bed" out a little. I also want to raise it up 10" or so like yours so there's some storage space under the bed.

Truth is, I don't mind sleeping in a tent at all, or even a hammock or bivy sack under the stars, but the wife has a thing against tents, and I'd prefer to be in a campground or wilderness over an overpriced crappy hotel room, so this is the compromise. :)
