The Ron Paul 2012 Website isn't good

Now, you know that RP supporters are not shy in requesting things. They have to have been bombarded. Give them a chance.

Tarzan has a very valid point. For Pete's sake, this is the internet age - it is a TRIVIAL thing to issue an automated response to let a person know that their request has been received and that someone will be responding. Sheesh.

These are the sorts of seemingly trivial omissions that can scuttle a business and a candidate - especially in this environment where people are really really pissed off at being treated as if they were insignificant objects rather than human beings. Perception is EVERYTHING in these affairs and it appears the RP campaign is not cutting the mustard in these details.

Will they accept volunteer help in cobbling together these detail items that stand to vastly improve the ways in which they are communicating with their prospective voters? It is a bit late in the game, but not too late if they make changes rapidly. Give what I am seeing it would almost lead one to wonder if they really want to win. Who is managing their site? Who is in charge of content and services there?

We do not control the campaign site. How about going to do something productive and go call some Iowans and try to get them to the Straw Poll.

The site is a wordpress template. It is not custom coded. Ergo you tend to be restricted to wordpress plugins and templates. The upside is it is easy to change content or even layout to a new template. I do not see what the gripe is. It is an informational site and well laid out for that purpose.

my bet is that this one was put together rather quickly and that they have a much better one in the works. Remember, Ron Paul only announced a month ago.

Patience :)

Nonsense. The site should have been ready to go BEFORE he announced. Planning and Strategy 001 here folks.

RP is a very intelligent man with most of the right clues regarding the USA. It does seem to me that he lacks the political savvy for campaigning that some of his far more polished, slick, and practiced colleagues employ is what seems a reflexive fashion. This says everything good about the man in terms of his suitability for the Office. It does not, however, speak well to the practical ability to gain that position. All his goodness as a man, his intellect and integrity, will do the nation not a spot of good if he cannot get elected. Therefore, it is up to us to aid him in the ways which his skills and proclivities may not be quite sufficient. This says nothing bad about the man, but only that is IS a man, that the job of getting elected is large and tough, and that he needs competent help in those areas where his strengths are not quite up to the task.

I'd rather him be strong in the ways he is and need that help campaigning than be strong in that way and insufficient to the position sought. I think he needs help. Plenty of smart people here who profess to believe. Who is willing to pony up?

Right now the site comes up as "Ron Paul 2012 Official Campaign WebsiteRon Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee" all run together.

It needs some work but lets not say it sucks because its all we have. I like to call it under construction. I only wish i could be the one working on it.

Same here. If only we belonged to the Paul family. Maybe then he would have hired us.

I agree. The campaign doesn't really pay attention to details...details are going to be really important ESP. IF Ron wins the NOD!!! Better get on that now. And keep the pressure on the campaign about this stuff...they need to hear it...

It used to be the site came up on google, and other sites as,
"Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee."
Right now the site comes up as
"Ron Paul 2012 Official Campaign WebsiteRon Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee"

It is all run together, and makes it look quite unprofessional.

The campaign site should have videos of Ron Paul's best public explanations of his policies. The casually interested visitor is more likely to spend 15 minutes watching videos than 5 minutes reading. There are some AWESOME videos of Ron around the internet and his campaign should point people to those.

It's had this issue for a at least days and I think over a week if memory serves me right. It's the title tags that are not optimized. Actually, very little of the site is optimized, believe it or not, for the search engines or social media sharing. Pointed a lot of this stuff out over a month ago when I gave Eric (eCampaign Director) my 5 page proposal and resume that I never heard back about.

I think this is a great idea!

Who is in charge of content and services there?

Eric Stein is the eCampaign Director, but I'm not sure who else is involved with the online stuff. Although I'm sure the Collins is involved in some aspect.

Thanks, the site has had this issue for a couple of weeks now, but I didn't know really what was wrong. I am guessing I will shoot the campaign a message about it. (Not sure how much good it will do though.)
