Explain how you help the movement with a protest vote. Don't bother, I've heard it and while it's not harmful I don't think it does much good either.

I can't give much weight to those of you who say don't use political tactics, vote your conscience and vote honestly. Dr. Paul is an honest and principled man, yet he openly admits that he is using the GOP becasue 3rd party candidates can win. I've heard him say it several times. Is he bad because he's "playing the game"? I don't thinks so.

You think he has been playing the game as a 10 term REPUBLICAN because of what again?

You don't think he considers HIMSELF a republican and that the republican base has lost its way?

If not then YOU are listening to ANOTHER ron paul son.

see? thats the difference tho. What Dr. Paul is doing, compared to what youre talking about doing, is tactical. What you are suggesting is just guesswork. You THINK Obama will fail miserably if he wins. You THINK that the only way Dems will see the light is if their messiah turns out to be a dud.

Ron Paul KNOWS the only way he can get his message out is thru the GOP, one of the TWO major political parties of this country and the one which he feels more closely aligned to.

So lets recap:

I learned something from it because my 5 star rating didn't change the total. That means there have been enough votes to keep the average steady. And that means that one or two people have probably given the thread a high rating to balance out the 1 star ratings I'm sure it's received.

They will be so desperate to win they will never risk their primary votes on a untested candidate like a paleo republican or libertarian minded republican.

I'm not looking at the next Presidential contest or even the next after that. We're growing a movement like the original Conservative movement and that will take time. I do think that when Obama fails to deliver it will be easier to get Ron Paul candidates elected.

You and Obama can go to hell. The only vote that will have any meaning at all will be a protest vote. Hell, I'd write in a screw ball like Mickey mouse, Kucinich or Pastor Haggee before I'd cast a vote for Obama or McCain.
