The reality in Iowa

3rd place would be huge in Iowa, even with the MSM, and it's perfect for going into NH, we'd leap over McCain and directly take on Romney. And I don't think theres enough time for him to get attack ads out either then. :)

Yesterday i took a nap at 3pm.
Sometime between then and 6pm i HAD A DREAM THAT RON PAUL WON IOWA!

LIKE, LANDSLIDE WON!

That should count for something!
:D :D :D

i've had that dream as well, a few weeks ago. strange thing is that i rarely remember my dreams. there have only been maybe less than 10 dreams that i've been able to remember after waking up, in my entire life.

In my campaign trail travels since May (New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina and Iowa), I've found Iowans to be the most apathetic, poorly informed Americans.

Let's face facts. Politicians have to provide transportation, entertainment, food, beverages and pay for their tickets, and with all of that, there still aren't 40,000 residents in the entire state who vote in the so-called all important Straw Poll.

Then, you have what I believe to be the most corrupt organization in the GOP since Al Capone, who scurry the votes into a locked, secure room that's guarded by armed police while they take hours to 'correct mistakes made by the electronic tabulation computers'.

Give me a flippin' break.

Ron has already won Iowa in my heart, Iowans and the GOP criminals notwithstanding.

I'll take what they give us in Iowa and then it's on to NH, SC and Super Tuesday. I just got back from the Rock Hill, SC NYE march. It was very well attended and we marched for miles and worked for hours sign waving and placing lit. Beats whining or telling national what Ron should be doing that he hasn't already done for us.

Iowa Schmiowa.

Isn't it absolutely frightening to think that "the most apathetic, poorly informed Americans" are effectively deciding who the choices for our President should be?

That's precisely how they want it to be

You have to realize, they have had 60 years to brainwash people, to destroy the education system, to feed people 200 channels of total shite on TV, and undermine the currency system and to get people to accept debt as their currency.

Even well educated people are not aware that they are living in a mental bird cage.

I'm still optimistic that RP is going to do well in Iowa and NH

The MOST IMPORTANT thing is to keep the internet FREE and unmolested by the state. They will attempt to close the matrix by controlling the internet. That must not be allowed to happen.

Prepare for a long battle. Even if Ron Paul was elected tomorrow, there would still be big battles ahead. Undoing 60 years of brainwashing can't be accomplished overnight.

I'm sensing "attack ads" on the horizon, either just before or a bit after NH. McCain ads talking about how 'the others are catering to Democrats weak stance on terror' or something. What a joke that'd be.

3rd place in IA is just fine, but it won't happen unless we continue to compete for 1st place. It isn't all or nothing. We don't yield ground, just because our chances for 1st are slim in a particular state. We compete for 1st and accept 3rd, if that's what we get. In the 7 early contests, a bunch of 2nd and 3rd place finishes, accompanied by 1 or 2 first place finishes is a HUGE victory for the campaign, but won't happen unless we compete for 1st place in EVERY state. Besides, miracles do happen. So, keep fighting!

That only 40,000 Iowans go to that sham of a political process is something I'm proud of.

It's the media that claims it to be vital, not Iowa residents.

Aside from that, I see no reason to cast such a wide net on Iowa residents. The only ones that would read it are Paul supporters, who are obviously well informed.

What's with all the Iowan bashing?

They're no more brainwashed and ill informed then the rest of the sheep in this country.

Stop classifying people into groups (states). We're not a nation of misinformed STATES. We're a nation of misinformed PEOPLE.

You guys are too optimistic, 3rd place is highly unlikely... 4th place maybe but 5th place sounds right.

but some people in some states are way more misinformed, Iowa is one of those states...

Real smart people you have there in Iowa

Issues don't matter, policies don't matter, honestly and record means nothing.

The only thing that matters to the voters of Iowa is whether they get a glimpse of the candidate and maybe shake his hand.

Are Iowans really that shallow?

hey, i'll be totally stoked if paul gets a 3rd in iowa. that will absolutely give the main stream media no excuse to ignore him anymore. and that's all we've been hoping for right? that he'll get a fair shake and that his message carries us the rest of the way?

don't get on the OP's case too much, i think he gave a fair and honest assessment of our chances in Iowa. Be optimistic guys, there are still a lot of young folks in iowa who support us and a 3rd place finish would be a victory considering the political leanings in that state. Let Romney and Huck blow their wads fighting over first in Iowa, a 3rd place finish will give us the momentum needed to finish strongly in NH.

btw the latest polls put Dr. Paul at 9% in Iowa. The media blitz is working. Now it's a question of a.) how dedicated our support is there, b.) will there be a big ass snowstorm (crosses fingers) and c.)just how many 'invisible' RP supporters there are out there.

Now we wait.

What he said.

Calling, mailing, and door to door, all day every day.

He says from San Diego.

Keep up the good work, I will be doing my part a bit later. (But not up to my elbows in snow:D )
