(Aspect #1)
A grassroots booth
So I had this hair-brained idea that the r3VOLution should have it's own booth at CPAC. I almost pulled that off (may still) ..., there was only one left though
, so we acted quickly and will definitely be sharing a booth with Oathkeepers (OK).
While it would be nice to have a booth to ourselves, free and clear of organizational restrictions, this is the next best thing as OK is a NV Non-Profit Corporation, which gives us a lot of freedom (to promote candidates)
One of the reasons I like to do ambitious things is that it provides the opportunity for the greater grassoots to collaborate, co-ordinate, hone our skills, and be a part of something on a national scale. For the experience. I generally set it up and hope/pray for the best
I see a great opportunity here and humbly ask for help, from those who trust me to represent, and from those who have the time and skills to put together a "presence" fit for r3VOLution.
At minimum I will need DVD's and other handouts. From there the sky is the limit.
Imagine screenings of For Liberty? Or a r3VOLution party/fundraiser?
One of the DVDs for handout will be "For Liberty." Am thinking of the activist pack edition for general distro, and the boxed set for VIP types...
The other will be custom, highlighting r3VOLution candidates and including some of the greatest videos to come out of our movement. I'm also thinking we might be able to craft some interviews from NV, Nueces, etc. into an appeal to avoid such ugliness in the future, and embrace our "big tent/small gov't" philosophy...
Will, also, need paper handouts. I figure one for r3VOLution candidates, and one for r3VOlution organizations.
What else?
And there is still a chance another booth could open up...
(Aspect #2)
Sponsor a Student
I would like to see us send at least a dozen students to CPAC. Tom Woods said he'd help promote. This kinda got me off my ass regarding this whole scheme. I was asked by Bierfeldt to help round up some students to take advantage of the package CfL has put together and that kinda clicked the puzzle into place. I believe we can reach outside our normal donor base for this. The bed/ticket package is ~$150 per. I'd like to find sponsors to cover both that and (cheap as possible) transport. They would be responsible for food/sundry expenses.
Funding
We already have the shared booth space
. I have a couch in DC I can always crash on...
It is on, whether I stand there and give out sharpie labeled DVDs from Freedom's Phoenix, and b/w 1/4 page "kinkos" printed fliers, or some cool custom r3v artwork.
I think we can can make this attractive to high end (maxxed out) donors, and organizations that may not be able to directly support a candidate, but want to help promote the slate, (such as Oathkeepers). I had positive responses all around at Freedom Summit.
I have talked to a few key people that will help round up some funding. I am hoping other members, here who are close to the various campaigns, consider co-ordinating to contact their maxxed out donors to help, as well. There is a lot of good that can come of this. Last estimate I saw was 9000 attendees...
AdamT has offered to help produce the "Liberty Slate" DVD, as well as work with donors to maximize distribution of "For Liberty." Can you help him? They'll cost about 50 cents a piece, how many do we want to have? How many boxed editions of For Liberty do we want to give out? and to who?
We could use vetting committees for candidates to include, and there is no way we will be able to list all candidates equally so we will need to figure that out. I figure there could be a website for "all" candidates and we can "feature" a broad range of a dozen or so... What is the best website listing our candidates?
Same for orgs.
Would googlewave be helpful for parts of this?
I would love to have the $4k booth cost on tap, ready to spring if a booth opens. Imagine the Full Page Ads on display, a Phoenix r3v backdrop, A flat screen cycling vids...
All funds can go through, American Liberty Coalition PAC May need to make separate chip-ins to help with the accounting... Or a website...
I'm pretty busy with other things as well... Help please.
