Since he is a staunch free market man and believes the government shouldn't be involved, what are his thoughts on the depression to end all depressions?

Believes we made it worse and extended it's length.

Yep.. caused by the Federal Reserve... Imagine that.. And we were all taught in school that the stock market crash, caused a run on the banks and THAT caused the depression.. Actually it was nothing more than the fed.. the 2nd Bank of the US did the same sort of thing back in the 1800s, but Andrew Jackson exposed it for what it was.. FDR just went along with it and ordered everybody had to turn in their gold to the federal reserve... what a crock.

Read Gold and Economic Freedom by Alan Greenspan. That's probably Paul's rough belief on how the Federal Reserve caused the Great Depression.

The reason for the existance of the FED is to cause cycles where booms are followed by busts which then cause the assets to end up the hands of the few.
