I can’t help but think Trump is struggling here. Not totally his fault, as the moderators aren’t even pretending to be unbiased, but the one thing Kamala is doing that will probably resonate with the audience (even if she has no plans or statistics to back up her words) is that she’s constantly trying to make it about the people and the Constitution instead of about herself.

When they mentioned Trump’s staff ‘quitting’, he really should’ve turned it on its head by bringing up the fact that her own staff has quit, citing that Harris is impossible to work for. If Harris wants to lift people up, why not start with her own staff?

It’s so easy to knock her down without constantly using immigration as a whataboutism, yet he continues to do so and didn’t even bring up why he ‘killed’ the bill to put more troops on the border. It’s so easy, but the moderators know what flusters him and that Trump always speaks in generalities and grandiose terms.

Kudos to whoever managed to make Kamala not sound like a meme generator, though.

Trump’s whole strategy was wrong going into this debate. He’s debating her. He should have just debated the deep state and kept calling her their latest puppet.
