Surprised at Paul' district
To me, the question is:
Why are they still using ballots with Bachmann still on there? Did people write her in?
She was on the electronic ballot.
I am really ashamed that Texas didn't do better for Paul. People did not vote for Romney because they are enthusiastic about thim. All they care about is getting Obama out of office.
I don't get why people thought from the beginning that we would have Texas in the bag. Ron was the congressman from one of many texas district, not a statewide figure.
She was on the electronic ballot.
I dont know for sure but I think "suspending" your campaigns does two things. Maintains your delegate count (unofficial) and keeps you on future ballots that you already paid for. If you completely end your campaign you get removed from future ballots even if you qualified for it. The benefit there for that candidate is obvious but it also serves to split future votes and let the frontrunner run away with it.
If Im wrong please correct me.
I don't think it is anything to be ashamed of. We saw the hand writing on the wall. Look at the other 3 times he ran for an office that was statewide or federal in TX.
1984 Republican Senate Primary election 16.5% (4 way race)
Texas is a pretty horrible state, to be honest. I spent 10 years between North Dallas and Austin. I know the place pretty well. It's not all it's hyped up to be by "liberty lovers." I endured 10 years of Rick Perry. I'm not giving Texas any credit.
If the illegals you hire and invite use none of these services, we have no reason for disagreement. However, such is not the case.
If the government did not take one persons property and give it to another, we would have no need for this conversation.
The problem is the services, not the immigration. Your logic is the same as the leftist who claims that because we have partially socialized medicine, they have a right to control what you eat or how much you exercise, because you might avail yourself of medicare/medicaid/emergency services later.
The fact that an immigrant might use government services is not an excuse to outlaw (or arbitrarily manage) immigration. Your logic goes the wrong way, to grow government control rather than shrink it.

Withdrawal or Death of Candidate: A Presidential candidate may withdraw from participation in the Presidential Primary at any time by filing with the Secretary of the SREC a signed and acknowledged request to that effect. If a Presidential candidate dies or withdraws before the seventy-ninth (79th) day prior to Election Day, the name of the candidate shall not appear on the ballot. If a candidate dies or withdraws during the seventy-nine (79) days before Primary Election Day, the votes cast for that candidate shall be deemed votes for uncommitted delegates and alternates. For the purpose of this section, withdrawal shall be accomplished only by the candidate filing a signed and acknowledged request to that effect with the Secretary of the SREC.
Correct. Illegal immigrants should be left to fend by themselves, build their own schools, groceries, clinics, hospitals, everything they would want to have in their communities without government intervention in their affairs, except they should pay taxes like the rest of society. They should be like gypsies. Give them zero government services, but don't interrupt them in their building of their own communities. But they need to pay taxes, that's all.

Controlling illegal immigration is part of the very basic security a government is responsible for.
This is dicking us over in a crapload of states like South Dakota. Thats probably the evil establishment plot. Telling Santorum and Ging to stay on the ballots.I dont know for sure but I think "suspending" your campaigns does two things.
