The Official Texas Results Thread

Occam's razor. Is it more likely there's a grand conspiracy going on in every precinct in every district in every county in every state; or are there millions of uninformed voters out there that pull the lever in a sheep-like daze?
You're leaving out the 3rd option tho: The actual conspiracy is small and at the top, but the non-conspiratorial-just-greedy actions of local GOP leaders assist the action of the conspirators. (As we clearly see in almost every local convention.)

The only 2 things that need to be truly conspiratorial here that explains everything is:

1. Some control of the Media, slanting their Bias towards the establishment.

2. Rigged voting machines, which could be done at the Diebold and other makers' factories.

Seriously, is there anyone here that actually thinks we will be able to go to Tampa and win the nomination?
Me. We have wayyyyyy more delegates than is being reported. Likely 2 for every 1 that R$ has... The man simply has no fans. And why should he?

God damn it! I'm tired of damn uneducated people voting just to boost their own damn ego and make them feel like they are doing something for society!
And I'm tired of slightly-more-educated people assuming that the people voted the way that the MSM told them they did. You should know better.

I don't think the majority of the masses are as stupid as we once thought... The MSM has incentives to spread that myth. (Viewership, Ad $, political, etc.)

i dont blame ron for not taking the presidency... being age 80, he has 10-20 years to be with his family and sip pita colatas on a carribean resort. he has done some hard work and deserve to rest. at the same time he probably wants a good future for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren... but he will leave their futures in the liberty movement.
You are right. He never wanted to win. Otherwise he would had used the word "jobs" which he never did during 2011 at all. And he knew that what people wanted to hear was "jobs." That is the word that in 2011 was the effective word for a candidate and Ron Paul never used it. That is your proof.
There is a very good reason that every US President who ever defied the idea of a federal, central bank was assassinated. (Yes, this includes Cleveland.)

Paul's no dummy, he knows that reason too. Therefore, logic insists that if Paul wants to be president, Paul wants to die a Martyr.

I'm not convinced yet if he is dedicated to the cause enough to actually want to be a Martyr... But I AM convinced that if he becomes a Martyr, it will have a huge effect on his already Revolution-minded followers. There would certainly be bloodshed in response, perhaps full-on war.

I happen to know that elections are rarely rigged. And that actually makes me feel worse. That means my neighbors are fascists and hatemongers. I would much rather believe the elections are always rigged against us. But I just can't live in fantasy land.
Oh you do, do you? I'd love to see your notes sometime... Here are some things that I happen to know:

1. Elections using electronic voting machines are EASY to rig...
2. Laws, made by incumbent lawmakers won't let them become harder to rig.
3. The incentives to rig elections today are every bit as strong as ruthless leaders' incentives were to forcefully overtake their governments throughout all of history.
4. There exists lots of evidence of rigging in this particular election.
5. The "facist hatemonger" neighbors you fear still have been misinformed about the need to vote today, and would not have shown up at the polls. Only Paul voters showed up today in full force... Everyone else was told that Paul dropped out, leaving R$ unopposed, remember?

Yes. I do. So many people have worked so hard and fought so hard against so much B.S., this isn't over yet, not at all. As for the media proclaiming a reality that doesn't actually exist, I can only say this:

"You can fool some of the people all the time, and you can fool all the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."
( --Abe Lincoln )

Don't be fooled. Don't give up. Don't lose hope. And... don't ever assume you know the future. That's an activity only fit for frauds and fools.

170,000+ votes for Ron Paul in Texas -- thanks to everyone who turned out to vote, and helped convince others to do the same.

Dreaming of a convention surprise is just that -- dreaming. Hopefully we can have a bigger delegation than most people expect, make some noise, wake some people up, and help steer the party in the right direction for the future. And continue what Dr. Paul has started.

Yes, every single election is rigged. Yes, Ron really won. Feel better?

I see this same comment over and over and have for decades. The elections are rigged. If that's true, then why aren't you out with semi-automatic rifles overthrowing the scoundrels? Why? I'll tell you why. Because you don't really believe it. It's just a way to bellyache and feel better about things.

I agree with you in principle; but worth noting: Dr. Paul claimed in "liberty defined" that one of his early campaigns he lost was due to voter fraud.

Conspiracy makes for great fiction and are psychologically more pleasing to their audience as someone else previously stated. If that type of stuff convinces you, you're welcome to it. The fact of the matter is that this Liberty movement can win elections if we field a qualified candidate, with the right message, in the right place, and bankroll them handsomely. There's no need to invoke conspiracies or magic to explain away loses. Deal with it head so we can adjust our strategy going forward and achieve election success. We've done it before with Rand, Amash, and Massie.

Is David Simpson good?

He needs 50 percent or runoff...

He's got 61%. And he's very good.

He's a state representative and not afraid to push states rights bills with teeth. This was his second election. Here's what did in his first term and some federal issues that I've seen him weigh in on:

The good:

*Authored the Texas TSA anti-groping bill, which David Dewhurst killed
*Voted against the Texas budget citing corporate subsidies as his reason
*Voted against mandatory vaccine requirements for college entrance
*Voted against banning texting while driving
*Voted against helmet safety regulations for kids playing football
*A reporter once asked him what the government should regulate and all he came up with was driving on the right side of the road.
*Tried to get taxes removed from the purchase of gold
*Against the PATRIOT Act
*Against warrant-less wiretapping
*Against policing the world and believes military spending should be reduced
*Wants Texas to block Obamacare
*Wants Texas to block any future cap-and-trade laws
*Doesn't believe federal firearms regulations apply to guns manufactured and sold withing Texas
*Supports the elimination of the business franchise tax
*Supports reducing property taxes

The bad:

*Wants to fine and deport illegal immigrants and fine businesses who hire illegals
*Not as strongly against eminent domain as he could be

If David Simpson ever wants to move up to the majors, I really think we should get behind him in a big way.

As someone who has been a part of a conspiracy before myself, you sound like a very naive person.

"Conspiracies" are just titles that those in power give to discredit those challenging them.

When the first Americans challenged King George, they were first call "conspirators." When the various allied states like Russia, England, and the USA crept up on Berlin, Hitler called us "Conspirators." See the pattern?

The only reason anyone in 2013 would refer to the GOP shenanigans this year as a conspiracy theory is if we lose in Tampa. Remember that.

170k is great. That's a shitload of votes. And hopefully a lot of delegates in the conventions. A huge Paul delegation from Texas would be very helpful in keeping the actual delegate count close. Im sure Paulites in TX are working very hard. I don't think a convention surprise is a dream.

If you have evidence of voting conspiracy in Texas bring it forward, until then this is all blathering on an internet forum, I won't dignify it by calling it speculation.

Your very first post on this forum were on the voting conspiracy, so its clear you wish to push that agenda.

Great post.

I'm sure that a lunatic or two will drop in and claim that you're TOO AFRAID to admit the reality of election fraud. The absurdity of it all will be lost on them.

I've got some crazy charts to show you from Canada. I'm kind of busy with US stuff, but if you want to continue my analysis in Canada, you'll be finding some actionable material.

Don't forget that the infamous GEMS Central Tabulator is now a Canadian product. (Dominion Voting Systems)

PM me if you're interested.

Can we please confine this insanity to one thread? That it still is given that much space around here is sad.

This loss was all due to Dr. Paul in so many ways and to none other than him. His 'no trouble' paradigm defines largely his modus operandi and shutting down his campaign in order to avoid trouble doomed it. Getting delegates after the fact and getting them to take risks required him to keep pushing ahead with characterizations. For some reason he is comfortable with Romney at some level, even if he is not at the policy levels.

Minority Rules: Why 10 Percent is All You Need

http://www.freakonomics.com/2011/07/28/minority-rules-why-10-percent-is-all-you-need/

“When the number of committed opinion holders is below 10 percent, there is no visible progress in the spread of ideas. It would literally take the amount of time comparable to the age of the universe for this size group to reach the majority,” said SCNARC Director Boleslaw Szymanski, the Claire and Roland Schmitt Distinguished Professor at Rensselaer. “Once that number grows above 10 percent, the idea spreads like flame.

Turns out if you’re in the minority, you have less of an incentive to compromise than the majority does. Because if you stick to your guns, and reach that crucial 10%, your ideas eventually win out. Just as the graph from SNARC below illustrates:

minorityopiniongraph.jpg

While I tend to disagree with these notions, how would you say that theory would work during the RNC? The time factor is three days but the entire universe in isolated, capture available.

Can someone explain how Ron got 40% in Virginia (where he also didn't campaign) but only 12% in his home state?
Is Texas even more of a vortex of suck than I realized?

He was still "actively" campaigning during that time. The media had written him off after the Benton fiasco. The tone has been set for a month nearly...Romney v. Obama.

And you really can't say it's his home state. I doubt he was ever accepted as a real Texan. He's not part of the good ol' boy network. I love Texas to the day I die, but the GOB network is strong here. :(
