The Official Texas Results Thread

We analyzed the most recent German elections for a possibility of "Vote Flipping" (exchanging of votes that keep the total count the same) and indeed Germany was not subject to this problem.

Make sure things stay that way in Germany.
Problem is: Liberty movement in the sense of libertarianism is non-existent in Germany (as in all other european countries as far as I know). Our libertarian party got 0.1% in the last major regional election a month ago. I was one of about 6,800 voters in a state of 20 Million (Nordrhein-Westfalen)

Never I heard of any major party in Europe that stands up against the paper money system.

The social security system never is challenged in its existence, only in some excesses.

But the times they are a changing... Wait for late June and the aftermath of the greek re-election...

(Sorry for OT)

Romney always does better than Paul with absentee votes:

Harris county
Romney:
Absentee: 12,016 78.48%
Early Voting: 41,178 69.45%
Election day: 5,360 68.76%

Paul:
Absentee: 1,015 6.63%
Early Voting: 7,145 12.05%
Election day: 1,187 15.23%

The difference is dramatic and it's the same pretty much everywhere. Certainly this is not caused by absentee military votes. Old people like to go vote. I doubt it's that either.

The extremely obese and shut-ins. Sure, why not.

Romney's organization and strategy was to maximize mail it voting. It was by design. I don't think the Paul camp had one. It has definitely helped Romney...part of elections 101...

When I voted absentee in 2008 you couldn't just vote absentee because you didn't want to go to the polling place. I'm pretty sure you had to be out of the county. I was at school in Michigan, so I got to vote absentee.

But I dunno, maybe the rules are different now or I'm not remembering correctly.

BTW were you at the Ron Paul Fullerton, California rally? I briefly met a nice German guy there.

Seriously, is there anyone here that actually thinks we will be able to go to Tampa and win the nomination?

You actually think they will let him win? Let's say they let Ron win, will Ron accept the nomination this way?

I have done a lot of reflecting over the past 6 years lately, and I have come to the conclusion that Ron Paul never wanted to win the Presidency. I know this opinion won't be popular here, but it's the truth. Ron Paul never wanted to be the President and he won't accept it even if we go to Tampa and turn the GOP on it's head.

This "Revolution" was never about nominating Ron Paul as President. It was about getting the apathetic involved at a local level. It was simply about spreading his message.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

God damn it! I'm tired of damn uneducated people voting just to boost their own damn ego and make them feel like they are doing something for society!

Well they're not! They just sit on their damn ass and not do any research on the candidates whatsoever!

At least Newt Gingrich and Santorum could bullshit their way through, but Romney doesn't even try to hide his terrible views! What the fuck is wrong with Americans!?

These people are fucking fools! Americans should be ashamed of themselves!

I'm tired of "Democracy"....

Ugh. No. Every single time he's asked if his goal is to win or simply spread his message, he says "both." Your view is that the most honest politician we've ever known has been lying repeatedly about this?

i dont blame ron for not taking the presidency... being age 80, he has 10-20 years to be with his family and sip pita colatas on a carribean resort. he has done some hard work and deserve to rest. at the same time he probably wants a good future for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren... but he will leave their futures in the liberty movement.

What is he going to say, "No, I'm not in the race to win, I just want to spread my message..."

Actions speak louder than words. Sorry, but you will never convince me using his actions that he ever wanted to actually win.

No, last time I was in the USA was in 1996. ;) Getting disappointed of Disneyworld at the age of 16, but having a wonderful time in NY. Still wondering why the barkeeper said to me that I have to be 21 in order to drink a orange juice in his bar, while in Germany you can drink beer anywhere at the age of 16. ;)

What is wrong with people in Texas? First GW Bush, Tenn Rick Perry, and Now Romney?

I am disappointed, but i am not surprised people are brainwashed.

Seriously though! I don't even see what the heck is even attracting them to Romney!?

All they're doing is voting a guy they think will win because it boosts their over-inflated ego and false patriotism to practice "democracy" and to be condescending to third world nations without a voting system!

What about the message? These immature fools are treating this like a damn game!

And excuse me for my harsh view, but it's true! They just vote because they feel a patriotic obligation to do so! It's all for their ego! They should be ashamed!

You are right. He never wanted to win. Otherwise he would had used the word "jobs" which he never did during 2011 at all. And he knew that what people wanted to hear was "jobs." That is the word that in 2011 was the effective word for a candidate and Ron Paul never used it. That is your proof.

Romney used the word "jobs" more frequently than any other candidate and that's why he is first. Simple.

I actually remember an interview late last year, in which he was asked if he could imagine himself in the White House and he said something like "Well, to be honest, no."

Honest Ron...
