--> the Official *Revolution March on D.C.* Thread <--

Guys and gals, if you want your ideas to be heard, you'll need to send them to the parents of this brainchild at the web site. Make sure you sign up. I attended the first conference call on this idea and am part of the planning committee now.

Mr. Austin, you PM'd me asking for details of the meeting and I thought I'd go ahead and answer you here so that other interested parties will know as well.

The conference call lasted a little over an hour. There were about 20 people on the call. Some of us got assigned tasks and will be conferencing again tomorrow morning @ 10:00 am pacific time. My job right now is to get permit information from D.C.

A date was discussed but not firmed up. It will depend on availability with regard to the permit. Most organizations march and rally in the summer time. So it might even be too late to do it then, but I should know by tomorrow. Any sooner won't be enough time to pull this off, especially given the response they've gotten over this. And, we don't want to have this rally too late in the summer. I know from experience that D.C. is sweltering hot during the summer months. I helped put on a march in the middle of last June there and the weather was perfect. Flag day, which is June 14th was given consideration as a first choice.

We also discussed a theme and came up with 'Restore the Constitution for Freedom, peace, and prosperity.' We talked about who to invite and how we wanted to keep this march very positive. Ron Paul is the guest speaker and he will never go for a hostile protest. We will most likely be inviting the 43 other congressmen who co-sponsored HCR40 which is a bill to stop the North American Union, NAFTA, and the NAFTA superhighway.

We talked about the positions that need to be filled for this event -

webmaster
artist
programmer

State Coordinators
Video production crew (for documentary of the event, etc.)
Public Relations
Attorneys for legal advice
Event organizer
National travel coordinator
March logistics officer
Accountant
Advisory Board

This is a very fluid situation and is developing and changing by the minute. Soon these positions will be added to the site for people to volunteer for. You will note that there are phases of planning on the site.

There is a lot involved in planning an event like this, we will be required to have a certain amount of porta potties, we'll need a stage and sound equipment, lighting. We have to coordinate with the park police on a march route and an ending location. We have to promote this and coordinate speakers and entertainers.

Keep your ideas coming, PM me any time, and please, spread the word, and sign up to help and to march.

Remember, like the Good Doctor says, this is not about one man, this is about a message. It is up to us to get this message out and to restore the republic. We have found each other and there are more of us freedom lovers than there are of the elitists who are running our lives and this nation into the ground. It's time we took our lives back. It's time we took our country back.

Right on Deborah. Is there anyway you could bring up adding a forum to the official website tomorrow morning so we can have direct discussion's there? I'm sure it would get popular quick.

I've been taking to Oyate about possibly desiging the website, although I don't know much about programming so obviously I would need to work closely with the webmaster.

Either way, keep us updated!

He is a friend of mine and I would be willing to put my feelers out and see if he knows of anyone that would be interested in taking on the task of filming the event.

I like the idea of marching on Washington.

As far as the "props" of the scrub brushes ... let me just say that during the large "Stop the War" rally in Portland last year, quiet a few people had brushes, plungers, brooms etc with signs attached "flush out the Corruption", "Clean up the Dirt" etc
 
I still think the message should be BRINGING BACK THE CONSTITUTION. We need to stay positive and not have a conspiracy theory twist, especially from 9/11 truthers. Attaching Ron Paul to that conspiracy is, IMO, the worst thing any Ron Paul supporter could do. If you want to bring up the conspiracy, don't bring Ron Paul into it. It is flat out irresponsible and it drastically hurts his chances.

We should focus the march around what guides Ron Paul and what makes his message so strong, the Contitution...

I agree 100%. I like the Constitution theme for the reasons stated.

Had another conference call this morning. We are working out the permit details as well as the logistics for the actual march; security, route, etc.

We are shooting for Flag Day June 14th but will have to put down 2 more dates as well. So what I am going to do, is forward all of your date suggestions from this thread, and the event organizers - Ray and Bryan - will choose the dates from amongst your suggestions.

They are also receptive to adding a forum to the March web site but will need volunteers to administer and moderate it. Anyone interested in helping us with this march please look at the list I provided earlier and email : [email protected]

Please try to stay within the confines of the volunteer list. Ray and Bryan are getting inundated with suggestions, which is fine, but right now we need to build a planning committee and would love to put one together from the fine group of people on this forum. So please, only email to this address if you plan to volunteer. Save the suggestions for this thread or for the new forum.

Sadly, if it's June 14th I wont be able to attend, but I will sign on as a promoter. I have great access to two college campuses here, and of course, NYC.
