Ted would have to change much more than he's capable of to have enough appeal to win the Presidency.

At this point, I think it's going to take all that he's got just to stay in Congress.

The Primary gave people a good look at Ted. He was rejected.

Ted Cruz:

Minute 7:35: "And citizens are furious. Rightly furious. At a political establishment that cynically breaks its promises and ignores the will of the people."

The hypocrisy is astonishing.

It will be a different Ted running in 2020. This guy is methodical when he can afford to be. He was probably plotting the 2016 campaign at the same time he was running for Senate in 2012. Ted will capture the support from other candidates who might be worth voting for, then hand over the nomination to Rubio or Bush.

The only real way to take out Ted is to make sure he doesn't get re-elected to the Senate. If these people are as angry as they claim to be, maybe they can make that happen.

I'm used to it.
John McCain is our Senator. I've yell'ed at more videos than you will ever know. :)

What say the Trump supporters there about Kelli Ward? She has probably been more vocal about non-support of Trump than McCain has.

Ted Cruz rebuffed by Adelsons after he refuses to endorse Donald Trump

imrs.php

Billionaires Sheldon and Miriam Adelson refused to let the senator from Texas enter their donor suite after his controversial address, according to a person familiar with the circumstances. CNN first reported the episode.

It was a pointed rebuff of the politician who had methodically cultivated the support of the Las Vegas Sands chairman and his wife for years, and who was once considered a strong contender to get their backing in the 2016 White House contest.

The Adelsons, who spent more than $92 million supporting Republicans in the 2012 elections, have approached this campaign with more caution, holding back from picking a candidate during the primaries. But this spring, they signaled they would back Trump. And on Wednesday night, Adelson adviser Andy Abboud made it official, tweeting a photo of the couple and the candidate together.

Kelli can take it this November (I hope, I hope)
Now that Trump has the nom... she'll fall in line. Even McCain's not that stupid
and yep... all the neocons are becoming noticeably silent... even McCain.
They've lost a LOT of momentum since Obama lost his nerve after Libya.
There's a lot of in fighting in Pentagon circles and our State Department
comes off looking like lobotomy patients trying to remember their scripts.
It's because of all the lies... they're afraid to say anything for fear of contradiction.
The only thing worse is everywhere else.... the whole world is just freakin nutz.

If either of these two things occurs, Republicans will forget about their perceived insult tonight and this will actually turn in Cruz's favor.

1) Trump loses the general election by a hefty margin.
2) Trump wins and is a horrible president.

Considering one of the above happening has about a 100% chance, I would say this benefits Cruz in the end.

Agree. Big risks, big rewards.

It might reward Cruz with some, but it certainly has made him a no-go for others. Forever. Actually, he was already in that territory, which is why his positioning in the 16 primary was so damaging. I do hope that some of the anger we are hearing tonight continues, so that he does go away in the end.

Rand is showing how you deal with this type of situation. Quiet as a mouse. Heal the blind. Wait for 2020. Hope the country aint totally f'ed by then.

Actually, nearly everyone across the conservative political spectrum is echoing this. There was a way to express disapproval for Trump. Hell, I would have had more respect for Cruz if he cursed Trump out on national television than this passive-aggressive stealth attack.

You seem understandably upset that your boy got cucked at his own party in front of the whole nation.

As Trump Campaign Promised, RNC Now Lying About Ted Cruz
By Erick Erickson | July 20, 2016, 11:37pm

The Trump campaign told Ted Cruz that Laura Ingraham would attack him if he did not endorse Trump. She did that on stage tonight and will no doubt do it on the radio in the morning.

They told Ted Cruz they’d organize booing, which they did. As soon as Cruz said to vote conscientiously, the delegates booed before he’d finished the sentence. It was clearly organized.

They also told Cruz that the RNC would start planting negative stories. And that has already started.

The RNC is now claiming that Cruz altered his speech and everyone was caught off guard. This flies in the face of claims by the Trump camp that Cruz did stick to his script. It also contradicts Newt Gingrich who claims he and the Trump camp saw the speech.

As promised, the RNC is now lying about Ted Cruz for the Trump campaign.
