BLITZER: All right, Henry Paulson?

TRUMP: I would give him an A.

BLITZER: Really?

TRUMP: I would give him an A. And I know a lot of people are saying, oh, this and that.

But the fact is, he came into a mess. He didn't create the mess. And he is helping us get out of the mess.

...

BLITZER: The Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, Ben B., as you call him.

TRUMP: I think that he has -- was a little bit late on the draw, but he has come around strongly. And I would give him a B-plus, a good strong B-plus.

Look, I mean, these people inherited a mess. And they weren't necessarily to blame for it. And they are trying to fix it. I would say that Ben was a little bit late. And, based on the lateness, but I am not sure there's -- if he was earlier, I am not sure that we would be in any different -- so, I would give him a B-plus.

Vote Trump, Fight the Bankers!

From Lyin' Ted to Kamikaze Ted!

This is what Ron Paul would have said, had Team Mitt given him a chance to speak.

Difference is Ron wouldn't have played games, he would have had class and the motivation of his speech would have been to advance an idea rather than his political ambition. Paul personally liked Romney. It's well documented that they were friends on the trail. Paul would not have embarrassed Mitt.

lol. boo voting your conscious.

Had Ron said this at a convention speech, everyone here would have cheered.

Wonder what the Trumpkins think Trump would have said in a speech, had he lost.

This convention is pretty garbage considering what we were supposed to be expected given how great Trump is at this kind of thing.

Trump set up Cruz it appears. They had copy of speech prior.

Looks like both Cruz and the Trump campaign were playing moves against each other.

Trump/RNC goals:
- show that unlike Mitt 2012, they are giving opposing views a voice on stage, put him in prime time (a smart move)
- stack the crowd with rabid Trump delegates
- tell infowars (Trump campaign surrogates) to hype the idea that Cruz will try to disrupt the convention
- wait for him to do the non-endorsement (they had a copy of the speech)
- rile up the floor to make it look like Cruz is the lone dissenter

Cruz goals:
- have some payback for a dirty primary
- be on prime time, not endorsing Trump (but not snubbing him either)
- become the front runner for 2020

Cruz had to have known what he was getting into, though.

You mean the booing?

Sure, but Cruz was trying to appeal to the remaining Never Trumpers in the TV audience.

If anything, the booing helped.

I myself, who loathe Cruz, momentarily gained respect for him.

Trump though....I can't really think of any benefit to him of allowing Cruz to do that, except the ol' "any press is good press."

The only ones who seem to have gotten played are the distraught Trumpers on social media. They truly believed Cruz would endorse Trump.

The Trump camp believed it would demoralize the opposition, though it looks to be doing the opposite. It's still too early to tell.

Cruz has done this sort of stunt before:
