These white people should be proud of themselves. They found the only middle eastern kid in the district and let him flip the coin. Perhaps next time they should check first to see if the person doing the flip actually understands how it works. But that’s a minor problem, it’s good enough to just let the kid adjust the coin and tell everyone else how it came out. The main objective was to have POC involved. Doubleplus good.

But is it really? I can't help but wonder if the same playbook that installed Trump is being used to propel Bernie. Lots of false opposition turned Trump from something of a joke candidate into the frontrunner and eventually the Presidency....and even continues to this day while he supports globalist initiatives like USMCA. Perhaps a similar playbook is being run to galvanize support behind Bernie, under a "the establishment hates him and are trying to screw him again" narrative. Trump's ascension proved that in an anti-establishment climate, the best way to install a pre-selected candidate is to fake opposition by the establishment.

The firm behind the app is Shadow, an affiliate of ACRONYM, a Democratic nonprofit founded in 2017 “to educate, inspire, register, and mobilize voters,” according to its website. Shadow started out as Groundbase, a tech developer co-founded by Gerard Niemira and Krista Davis, who worked for the tech team on Clinton’s campaign for the 2016 Democratic nomination.

Niemira had previously worked at kiva.org, a nonprofit that makes loans to entrepreneurs and others in the developing world, and Davis had spent eight years as an engineer at Google. ACRONYM’s founder and CEO is Tara McGowan, a former journalist and digital producer with President Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.

Among Shadow’s clients is Pete Buttegieg’s presidential campaign, which paid $42,500 to the firm in July 2019 for “software rights and subscriptions,” according to disclosures to the FEC. A spokesman for the campaign says the payment was for a service used to send text messages to voters. The campaigns of Joe Biden and Kirsten Gillibrand, who withdrew from the race last year, also made smaller payments to Shadow.

The popular vote is just the beginning of the process though and has zero impact on who gets the delegates. They used to not release the first round numbers- this is the first time doing so. Keeping in mind that only some people can afford to spend a few hours sitting through a caucus so you only get a portion of the population with free time participating. Not a reflection of what the general population (or even the average Democrat) thinks.
