The hucker lied about his weight loss?

Interesting indeed...

I read some and skimmed some.. I'll tell you what, I have a cousin who weighed around 400lbs. He tried, tried, and tried to lose weight. Healthy eating, exercise, etc. Nothing worked. Since he has had the gastric bypass surgery, this was around July I believe, he has lost way over 100lbs.

So, I could believe that he had the surgery. It's so hard to lose weight and normally when you are doing it the right way, you hit a plateau, it doesn't seem like he hit that plateau which doesn't consist with old fashion weight loss as well.

somebody spent a LOT of time looking at huckabees weight loss.

Interesting...

I was 6'1", 245lbs in 2001. I lost 70lbs in 4 months back in 2001. I did it with martial arts for 3 hours every evening and eating about 1200 calories a day. It's doable.

I felt really good after the weight was gone, and my life got better. I was exercising every day and eating right. I maintained it for about 3 years, and then after I had problems with my job and got depressed, I gained most of it all back.

I'm working on it again, but methinks I likes the food too much. It's just bad habits is what it is.

well, the point is, if he lies about something positive in his life to make money... what else would he lie about?

I thought the point was that fat people are evil and stupid? That's what MSM keeps telling me. Looks like Huckabee's book says as much, as well.

I lived in Memphis for a while (95-00) and we always heard about huckabee on the news. I was under the impression this whole time that he had had gastric bypass. I can't remember specifically if it was reported, or if that was the talk.

Its a really personal thing. Its probably embarrassing. I'm more concerned about how he said he changed his position on Cuba embargo because he's running for President.

No the point is why he lied about it so he could make money from the book sales.

If he lies about that to make money he'll lie about going to war to make money.

It's just connecting the dots.

If this turns out to be true, he will drop out of the race the day the evidence comes out. That would be a direct lie. There must nurses and billing people and other medical people who would have known about it, aside from the doctor. The graphs and the stuff about his skin and hair are pretty interesting.

How can people not care about this?

If he had never really said much about how he lost the weight, refused to really answer any questions about it, never exploited it for profit, and tried to totally downplay it, I wouldn't care and would say it's his personal business.

But when he's been making money selling a book and giving speeches about how to lose weight through diet and exercise, by holding himself up as an example, it's fraudulent and shows what kind of person he is if he really lost the weight through surgery.

If I were him and the rumors weren't true, I'd have my doctor take some x-rays of my intestines, then hold a press conference with him to show them and answer questions to put this to bed once and for all. His weight loss is no longer his personal business when he uses it to promote himself and make money.

"I did not have gastric bypass surgery with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky..."

Wow, those boys from Hope, Ark certainly know how to sling it, don't they?

Despite my strong political disagreements with him, it is clear that he is an extremely driven and successful person. His position also afforded him considerable support in his weight loss and maintenance. Thus, it is not surprising that someone like him would have atypical results. We see even greater weight loss all of the time on the show "The Biggest Loser" where the motivation and support is supplied externally.

I think it is most likely that he achieved the weight loss in the manner that he describes. It would be hard to keep the surgery secret and the exposure of the lie would be devastating to him and his career aspirations. Presidential candidates are also expected to provide a full medical history and disclosure. Fraud exposed there would be even more disasterous.

With that said, Huck is a politician and has a history of being loose with the truth. So, despite all of the strong reasons against lying, it is still possible. It certainly would be fun if he did and it were exposed - almost as much fun as we had with Clinton and the blue dress.

That is very interesting. They say a typical result from rigorous excersize and diet results 5%-10% weight loss in 6mo. Huckabee's was 26% in 6mo which is unbelievable. Look at this chart they post:

Why is this important you might ask? Well he ran a government program based entirely on his personal experience with healthy weightloss, changed policies, sold books about his feat and even propelled himself to be a presidential candidate, all based on his miraculous healthy weight loss. Now it might be all false, he cheated and had surgery performed, that would by pretty hypocritical wouldn't you say.

If you love food like I do, you want to use food to your advantage -- turn it into healthy lean muscle by doing weights every two days.

An hour in the gym every 48 hours is, personally, well worth it for the luxury of being able to eat all day long :D (as long as it's good quality food, rich in protein like chicken, tuna, turkey, eggs, nuts, spinach, berries, cottage cheese, etc, plus throw in a few junk meals now and then :D)

1/48 = not hard.
