The GOP is dead. Stick a fork in it.

Bush is so obviously not going to be the nominee that it surprises me that it's even considered. Neither Bush nor Christie will be the nominee, to consider them as contenders is to buy into a red herring consideration. Focus attention elsewhere. Don't even talk about their potential running or nominations, it just adds to the distractive noise that blocks out the important considerations.

It's like everyone's talking about that guy with the boot on his head. I don't remember his name, because he never had a chance, and was a joke, a distraction. Ah yes, Vermin Supreme.

Whenever I hear people talking about Bush or Christie, it's like they're talking about Vermin Supreme, or the rent is too high guy. It's just entertaining noise, the bread and circus of political discussion.

At this point I think Bush and Christie are viable candidates; from the GOP's perspective. Normally it's failed candidates from the last election. Gingrich? Santorum? What godawful losers to pick from. The democrats already have theirs. Hillary.

Not going to vote for Jeb in the primary, but I could vote for Jeb/Palin in a general against Hillary. I don't think they could beat Hillary though unless something drastic happens like another Clinton scandal scandal or Obama starts an unpopular war.

Zero already screwed up his party by arrogantly telling millions of people that health care is a requirement. Just wait two years from now and see how he has fucked everybody up. It's the issue that will tip the balance the other way. Not much tipping, but just enough. Probably the usual 52-48, or some shit like that.

That's what happens with arrogant people though. They push it just enough. Really--I never thought I see such a cocky prick. The average person would be embarrassed by their failures, but not the current king. He is so arrogant that it's like Charlie Brown telling everybody he kicked a 65 yard field goal.

Well here's one thing our current and by the looks of this article our future VP have in common...

Onion

Earlier this year, Jeb Bush told ABC that both his father George H.W. Bush, and brother George W. recommended he run for president in 2016. Mama Barbara Bush is not keen on the idea, declaring in April that “the nation’s probably had enough Bushes.”

These people are arrogant, but when push comes to shove I don't think they're that dumb.

They ran Obama to pretend like things would actually change. There's no way they think they can still get away with a Clinton vs. Bush/Palin ticket, do they?

I know there's still a lot of ignorant voters out there, but the Bush name alone is sunk because his crappiness and scuminess helped lead to a president who the base hates worse.

It is probably just due to Obama hate for the msotly wrong reasons, but we definitely have an opportunity as the party wants to pretend to be libertarian.

And the actual difference between Jeb Bush and Hillary is......? On the war front, the main reason Obama wasn't able to go to war in Syria is because Republicans were against it because he's a Democrat and Democrats were against it because they are Democrats. Had Romney been president he would have had solid Republican support and would have gotten a few Dems to boot.

This is insane. If the GOP nominated another Bush (not to mention Palin) they really are suicidal.

Why not? Democrats are prepping to nominate another Clinton. Though, I think they've already committed suicide with the ACA, so they really have nothing to lose.

This country is ruled by dynasties. Of course, they'd probably say that about the Pauls, though none of them have ever actually made it to the presidency.

Surely Bush has skeletons in his closet. The Party would be dumb enough to try and run another Bush after W.'s run.

He's right though, that there sure are some who are trying very hard to do just that. It's extremely discouraging.

You guys keep telling us we don't matter. Which is it? Do you need us, or not?
If you don't, then zip it.
If you do, then stop treating us like our opinions are irrelevant.

History repeating itself again right in these forums. I remember the same things being said about Romney having no chance of winning the nomination early on last cycle as well as McCain.

There were Tea Party protests prominently covered on every news channel around this time yet the establishment still pushed ahead and succeeded with Romney. Romney even had far worse baggage than Jeb Bush considering he was the father of the individual mandate and Obamacare.

No one should be surprised if Jeb enters the race and becomes the nominee. He is picked this cycle just as you could see Dole, his brother, McCain and Romney being the anointed one years prior to primaries.

I don't think there's any doubt Jeb could win the primaries. But does anybody in the GOP really think he can beat the Dems? Dem voters are much more loyal than GOP voters, many of whom actually DO want smaller government, and are willing to protest vote to avoid a big government republican in office.

lol leave it to the GOP fanboys to blame the liberty movement for the GOP's problems. Typical GOP attitude. I can't wait for the old folks to die off so we can fix this country.
Are you talking about Ron Paul?
