The GOP closed the wall on us at Oklahoma convention, so we continued outside.

In AZ they are putting this out calling us brownshirts, believe it or not, as if fascism and wanting liberty were not opposites. Booing people is ALWAYS a bad idea because that gives the media an easy way to make booing the story (which it is, just google Ron Paul) rather than that they broke the rules etc.

Be that as it may, this is clearly a media war now and we need to act accordingly.

I've seen posts explaining that Josh Romney was not "booed off the stage". There were boos when he said they need to endorse the Romney slate. But your overall point is correct, is too easy for an outburst like that to be blown out of proportion and used against us.

Thanks flybeech. I stayed in the parking lot for a little while but needed to head back in. Appreciate you staying through it all and updating.

Well, you (we) need to make it formal, that the Romney camp and the Arizona GOP tried to endorse a candidate on stage, put it in a letter, make a press release, and keep mentioning it.

Not only can you mention the booing offhanded in the letter - when Romney's son tried to break the rules and was boo-d, telling the real story --

Reminds me of this. Who brought Romney's son in?

I'd also like to make a little note of one other case (of many) of rule breaking:

Section IX.
-General:

"...No amplifying device, other than the regular public address system, shall be used. No signs or placards will be allowed in the Convention Hall..."

Now, after adopting the rules, we quit signaling. However, there were probably between 8-12 Romney folk with big green and red poster boards still holding their signs up. We then began yelling that they are breaking the rules and that signs are not allowed per the rules adopted.

One guy began yelling "How are we supposed to know what to vote for!?" and finally an "official" got up on the mic and stated that signs are allowed and some other b/s that I didn't hear.

Funny, because I have the rules sitting right in front of me and the language is pretty clear.

Yesterday, the GOP closed the wall on us at the GOP convention, so we were forced to reconvene outside. It was a 20 hour marathon that ended as a near-religious experience. Thanks for all the RP supporters who graciously sent us piles of pizza and drinks. The videos will all appear to show the world what happened. Today, my body is in pain, but it was all worth it. You cannot stop an idea who's time has come.

Amen!

I hope someone in Oklahoma is compiling everything and writing a clear description of exactly what happened and sending it to the campaign, along with supporting video.

I hope so, too.

As many cameras as were rolling (especially during the rump convention), that shouldn't be an issue.

Believe me, there were hundreds of cameras rolling the whole time and everything will see the light of day. Ron Paul dominated every wireless port in the convention system in the convention and we were well connected the entire time. Give us some time to recover from a 20+ hour ordeal and and as today progresses, videos will begin to appear.

Regarding the giant power wall that they rolled out to block out Tulsa, a witness reported in FB that the wall was moved back into the cubbyhole for the prom that was scheduled later that night. They told us that the wall needed to be closed for the prom, but it was probably more to blackout the furious Tulsa delegation.

If I am not mistaken, the convention hall was broken up into three areas, was it not? So, that would make sense considering only our side (the Tulsa side) was being walled off.

However, I am not certain if there was another wall or not. Because it looked to me that the side they were walling off was only about 1/3 of the entire convention hall.

By the way, I was going to try and text or call you so we could meet, but things became so hectic with Tulsa County having to be re-registered and all that.

hmm i hear ya liberty eagle, but the next thought i have is why the f is the campaign not already there and they should of been! We are trying to WIN!! It is beyond me why they wouldn't have some attorney's and some campaign heavy hitters there already. There is no excuses. The ron paul campaign should be on top of every convention!

You're exactly right, Tulsans were walled off. Oklahoma county was on the opposite side and all the smaller counties were in the middle. When I saw your wall going up, I was shocked and wondered what superpowers Nuttle had to see through those giant walls to count your vote. Nuttle didn't want to count y'all at all. We didn't challenge Nuttle for the Chair, because he had a reputation for fairness. Nuttle lost all trust forever, for what he did yesterday.

ABsolutely right about that. A ROmney supporter punches a Ron Paul delegate...no coverage. A Romney gets booed, and it gets exaggerated to the point of being a lie?

Ridiculous.

So they pointed to the door and you all got in line and exited? Not sure I understand the "they closed the door" part ( who turned out the lights? Couldn't you turn them back on again or stop whoever it was turning them off from doing so? ) and haven't read thru all the posts yet. "Who" forced you all to discharge outside? Was it televised on the national media anywhere and if so how was it presented?

Sorry, I'm trying to see the benefit. Did the communist, er, "the party" decide what they'll accept and what they won't and is there a law that says the people outside will be allowed into Tampa as delegates ?

Most people left, yes. Paul delegates, a good number of us, stayed and took it upon ourselves to reconvene in the parking lot.

We do not know who kept turning the lights off, and the hotel workers just came in and started moving the doors to close off the areas of the convention floor literally right at 5 when it was supposed to be closing. They usually allow some time for everyone to pack up, this is why some of us believe whoever was in charge of the convention told them to go ahead and start closing off a section of the floor.
