I make an effort not to use ad hominems and sometimes edit out the foul language, but it is difficult. One positive thing I can do is to stop conversing with certain people once they show their true colors. Fences make good neighbors and sometimes it is just better to stay away from some people.

But first one should reduce to the true American dichotomy and correct any mistakes in how our government is supposed to divide itself up into a Democratic Republic.

In other words, one should never say "National Hurricane Center" without pointing out the mistake in its classification. In truth, when referring to this necessary weather operative set up to help advise and protect our Democratic Republic of individual nation states, one should call it the "Federal Hurricane Center."

To say the "Federal, national, and local level" should be understood by all to be the same as the "Federal, state, and local level."
If you don't understand the point I am making, you have been diseducated into the useless knowledge of the false dichotomies.

In regards to what is the true American dichotomy, we know that a tyrant sits at one end of the spectrum with him being introduced to us in the Declaration of Independence by our Founding Fathers. At the other end of this spectrum is a worthless prostitute living homeless on the street. This is the one true American dichotomy unless you have one better.

It doesn't say not to criticize. It says that if you're going to say "Rand's a traitor," you should maybe provide something CONSTRUCTIVE to go along with that. If all you can do is say "we're screwed" (no, I know you're not, Pete) or "I hate __________________," then what is your point?

Oh no! You mean... the forum aspires to find solutions?!? Here I thought it was just a bitchfest :)

+Rep. Could not have said it better.

It's far too easy for political forums to become nothing more than "bitchfests". For what it's worth, this forum has been pretty good in terms of having actual, insightful debates.

I was positive. But I now see the horsemen on the horizon. Nothing to do but prepare and hope and question how to survive.
