The California Revolution of 2010

Hi TeacherOne- We believe in states rights and are true to the constitution party so if the will of the people is 2 legalize and include gay marriage we are going to support the will of the people. It's my belief the legalization of marijuana is a positive thing and the good far out way the bad in the resources that could be created from could help greatly. I do not like the taxation of Prop 19 but I see the value right now we are in an economic crisis we got to find the solutions to get out.

It think it should be handled like drink and driving do not smoke and drive. Hmm the same consequences?

Prop 215 - We are against any intrusion of the Federal Government so I am delighted to look into this issue and potentially bring it to the for front of the campaign if it all checks out. As much as I hate to say it we well will work with Federal Government in some instance in providing us any information that could help save lives the people must always come first. The war on terror has made us a lot of enemies and the consequences of blow back must never be under estimated.

I corrected the page in environment you are right. If you can update your post it's appreciated. We will open up this discussion on this topic and look forward to having Nightingale come here for discussion. The thing is nobody has this answer if we damage the earth there could be consequences.

We should all do are part as citizens of the earth we inhabit it and should respect it.

We are in the process of developing a we the people solution solution page. What if people donated fruits and vegetables to feed the homeless in all counties. A example are the SOS clinics they provide free food to people. Companies like Trader Joes donate produce many times companies throw stuff away. It would be simple to have a 1-800 number to collect goods from large companies and also have farmers donate produce as well. There maybe some regulations we must look at with the FDA but I believe there could be a solution to help out in just 1 way here.

She is for stationing military at the border and I am in agreement a wall not so much. I am for real liberty in every sense of means but we have people coming here kidnapping people, living off us for free taking advantage of our system and gangs have run rampant in CA.

We need to change D.C in this regard no more amnesty, no more welfare nanny state. Then it will allow us to follow a more liberty minded philosophy in my opinion.

Edited the post above... section looks better now.

Would be nice in the immigration section for her to point out that the guard is stationed overseas fighting undeclared wars.

also- the tone of her immigration stance could be softened. it is all too obvious that california businesses profit greatly from illegal immigration.

there are two solutions to the problem--

a) EXPAND THE GOVERNMENT= station the military, pull illegals out of schools, investigate and fine businesses that hire illegals.

b) LIMIT THE GOVERNMENT = cut all the welfare programs and the fire the bureaucrats who run them.

i think we all know which answer the constitution calls for.

EDUCATION

CALIFORNIA'S PROBLEMS
California is currently ranked 49th nationwide in education.
25% of California students do not speak English (The national average is 9%).
California classrooms are overcrowded with 6.2 million students.
California schools are forcing political agenda curriculum on K-5th grade students.
California is currently ranked 49th nationwide in education.
K-12 education consumes 40% of the entire state budget while only 50% of California's students will ever graduate from high school.
Public employee unions have too much power.
The California public school system seems to be more interested in pushing political agendas onto our impressionable youth instead of teaching them the fundamentals.

CHELENE'S SOLUTIONS

Curtail End benefits for educating those who are in our state unlawfully.
Offer state support an Education Tax Refund for families who choose home schooling options.
Create low cost nutritional options and provide school work programs for California families in need.
Allow parents to opt out of education that does not fit their family values. In addition, reward schools with financial incentives for concentrating on valuable academic studies instead of politically correct agendas.
Most people lose their jobs when they don't perform well. America's highest paid teachers should not be any different.
Force schools to improve through competition and allow parents to choose the best schools for their children by eliminating school district boundaries.
School vouchers are working extremely well wherever they are allowed. We need to push aside the special-interests who are preventing California students from the benefits of educational choice.

California's problems
12% of americans live in california but we spend 32% of the social program money in america.
In 2005, california had the 3rd worst business climate in the nation. Today we have the worst.
We are home to the nation's highest business taxes and the most punishing employment laws. (source and stats?)
we have the highest sales tax in the nation with a minimum sales tax of 8.25%
after spending decades running the aircraft and aerospace industries out of the state, our legislature has run out an additional 80,000 jobs in the last 5 years.
The cost of our state government has grown by 40% since our current governor took office.
California leads the nation with an 11.5% unemployment rate and those numbers are still climbing.
All of these problems stem directly from those in sacramento who refuse to deny favors to their special interest benefactors. But "we the people" can repair this misrepresentation and fix our economy with the following solutions.

Chelene's solutions

return the legislature to part-time status.
free all california state prisoners currently doing time for consumption or possession of marijuana.
drastically reduce business taxes.
drastically reduce the sales tax.
Drastically reduce property taxes.

reduce workers comp costs and benefits. Don't penalize businesses for creating jobs.
Make california a profitable state for businesses and businesses will create jobs for our citizens.
Cut taxes for all our citizens and allow our state to prosper.
It has taken our misguided politicians decades to create this current financial mess; thus we will not climb out of it overnight. California cannot continue push our businesses across state lines with high taxes and burdensome regulations while we spend away our children's futures. I firmly believe that responsible citizens have had enough and are ready to take california back!

Water and the environment

people are more important than fish!

Yet those we have elected continue to destroy our state with their environmental propaganda. the federal endangered species act has turned our central valley into a dust bowl to save a few delta smelt. combined with an irresponsible judicial decision preventing water to be pumped into the san joaquin valley and our once golden state has lost $2.2 billion in revenue due to the water crisis. In addition 500,000 acres of agricultural land will eventually be forced out of production increasing unemployment which is already hovering around 40% in the region. Ironically those who vow to save our environment are actually destroying the central valley.

Our state environmental problems are further compounded with ab 32. Back in 2006 governor schwarzenegger (r), supported by members of the global elite, signed into law this global warming solutions act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The bill gives power to the california air resources board (carb) to develop strict regulations over on california businesses. The small business roundtable estimated ab 32 would cost consumers $149.2 billion and small businesses $182.6 billion in addition to 1.1 million in lost jobs. (our state already has an unemployment crisis averaging around 15 %.)

i support both farmers and human welfare! Time to abolish the san joaquin river settlement and instead create a farmers relief settlement! In addition i will immediately demand a temporary judicial order to allow the delta pumps to flow through our current dust bowl while we work on permanent solutions like building new water systems.

The tenth amendment of the united states constitution:
"the powers not delegated to the united states (government) by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

unfortunately the federal government has unconstitutionally trampled on states' rights. Not only do many elected officials allow the intrusion, they aid in dismantling both state and individual rights by passing overbearing laws.

this is seen most dramatically when the federal government ignores the will of california's people and raids medical marijuana establishments confiscating property and imprisoning businessmen and women alike. As governor i will force the federal government to recognize our rights under the tenth amendment to govern ourselves as we californians see fit.

the tenth amendment was adopted after the constitutional ratification process to emphasize the fact that the states remained individual and uniquely sovereign. Thus, any federal attempt to legislate beyond the constitutional limits of congress' authority is an usurpation of state sovereignty.

As governor, i will join the fight with arizona, new hampshire, florida, montana,
tennessee, and others to regain our vital state constitutional rights. Each state must embrace its own destiny and california is no exception. The golden state is faced with a multitude of serious problems created by our own politicians without importing more unconstitutional obstacles from washington d.c.

jamsie--sent you a word doc with suggested edits.

Formatting was getting all wacked on the Forum.

Wow...that was fast!

Hope you ran those issue pages by the candidate first! I did some major changes there!

Please make sure Nightingale agrees with the alterations--especially:

Free all California state prisoners currently doing time for consumption or possession of marijuana. We can save millions by diminishing our prison population.

Force schools to improve through competition and allow parents to choose the best schools for their children by eliminating school district boundaries.

Offer an “Education Tax Refund” for families who choose home schooling options.

Drastically reducing property taxes.

This is seen most dramatically when the federal government ignores the will of California’s people and raids medical marijuana establishments confiscating property and imprisoning businessmen and women alike. As governor I will force the federal government to recognize our rights under the tenth amendment to govern ourselves as we Californians see fit.

THE ABOVE WERE MY ADDITIONS-- PLEASE ENSURE NIGHTINGALE AGREES WITH THEM!

jamsie: i tried to work on the illegal immigration one to soften the language a bit. i added a paragraph about the wars and about the welfare state. read it and see if it works!

No other issue has dominated our political climate more than border security and immigration reform. In fact the debate is even more heated due to Arizona passing SB 1070 due to the federal government's failure to protect our borders. Recent polling data proves an increasing number of Americans not only support Arizona, but also 76% of Americans want a decrease of the illegal alien population (CBS).

As Governor, I will follow Arizona’s lead and send our State Military and National Guard to the border in order to halt the flow of illegal immigrants. To do this I will recall our California State Patriots from the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq. Our young men and women should not be working to build nations abroad while our great state is crumbling at home. They should not be fighting Washington’s undeclared and therefor unconstitutional wars! Thirty Californian heroes have already died needlessly abroad since Operation “Iraqi Freedom” began. It’s time we brought them all home to do the job they signed up to do—defending the Golden State!

Per a Department of Homeland Security Report, California is the leading state of residence for illegal aliens. California is also the home of the greatest number of sanctuary cities. The adverse effects of the illegal alien population in California has been costly and includes the complete financial collapse of the sanctuary city Maywood, recently forced to lay off all of its city workers and to end all city services for all its legal and law-abiding citizens.

Other problems noted include the following:

• California Taxpayers pay $10.5 billion per year for the education, healthcare and incarceration of criminal aliens. (FAIR Study) *This report does not include food stamps, CalWorks, or anchor baby costs.
• Per a 2007 economic advisor report, the average illegal alien receives $8 - $12 in public services yet only pays $1 in taxes resulting in a special "tax" in tens of billions of dollars for legal Californians.
• Department of Justice reports 60% of Southern California gangs are criminal aliens and almost half of the California prison system are illegal aliens.
• Drug cartels have set up money laundering operations in Los Angeles to take over local politics.
• Illegal aliens are wanted for 95% of all Los Angeles homicides.
• Special language programs cost California almost $500 million annually.

Now there is a lot of blame to go around; from the businesses that hire illegals and profit from their cheap labor, to the ever expanding welfare state which attracts those seeking a better life. Obviously militarizing our border is not a permanent solution—we must first remove the generous benefits that illegals receive in order to ensure that those coming to work in our great state get in line and do it legally and lawfully. Therefore, as governor I will do the following:

• End all public benefits for illegal aliens.
• Enforce immigration laws which include abolishing sanctuary city policies.
• Support the California Taxpayer Protection Act. http://www.taxpayerrevolution.org
• Prohibit in-state tuition for anyone here unlawfully.
Although I will speak with those who represent our state in Washington D.C. regarding border security solutions, I will utilize state rights to do the job the federal government refuses to do! To protect our California border, I will place our state military on the border to help border patrol. In addition I will demand that our National Guard are sent back home to do the job they enlisted to do.

Finally, I will dramatically diminish the welfare state that California has developed over the years of liberal leadership. Only when this is achieved will those wishing to come to our great state come willing to work legally and lawfully.
