The Atheist Rocker who is a Saint of our times

I was kind of hoping the story would include that he brought Rock n' Roll to Africa, but it's cool that he's helping out these poor kids.

Thank you for sharing this, what an inspirational and moving story. The man truly is a saint

There you go. TER said that man's good works get him to heaven.

One of two things is happening here:

1) English is your second language or you went to a horrible public school and reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths
2) You are purposely putting a meaning into his post which no one else in this thread took as the intention of his post.

No, only one thing is happening here. You don't understand what is going on this thread.

Enlighten me, then.

But first, what was wrong with what TER said? If you're a Christian (I'm assuming you and TER both are so your answer to this should be the same) do you believe it is you or God who gets to judge who is a saint and who is not?

So you don't know what the EOC says about works salvation? Why did you chime in and insult me if you didn't know what you were talking about?

What is the EOC and what does that have to do with what TER said?

You accused him of saying that man's works will get him into heaven. He never said that on this thread. You quoted him,and accused him of saying that, but it appears you're just putting words into his mouth which no reasonable person would infer from his response.

But can you answer my question I posed in my last response to you? Namely this one:

Please educate yourself about these issues.

I asked you to enlighten me, aren't you going to answer my questions?
You'll get more enlightenment from a doll that says the same thing when you pull its string LOL

it appears you're just putting words into his mouth which no reasonable person would infer from his response.

It's his quasi-Calvinism religion. He has a long list of religious axiom. If someone doubts one of his doctrines, he'll make up a belief for them. Such as a doubt in"Faith Alone," it automatically means they trust in their own works over God. There have been hundreds of threads (some over a 1000 posts long,) but it never gets through to him that his axioms that lead to his judgments are wrong. I guess it makes him feel better about his own relation with God to make up things about other people. Oddly he takes pride in his lack of communication skills that lead to excessively long threads with no resolutions.

But first, what was wrong with what TER said? If you're a Christian (I'm assuming you and TER both are so your answer to this should be the same) do you believe it is you or God who gets to judge who is a saint and who is not?
TER is an Eastern Orthodox Christian (EOC). The Roman Catholic Church schismed and became a bit more legalistic than the Eastern Church. In the 1500s many Protestant Churches schismed from the Roman Church and new doctrines were invented as loopholes to the legalism of Rome. Sola-Fide can't understand why 500 year old doctrines of a Church that Schismed from another schismatic Church hold no relevance to the 2000 year old Orthodox Church. Such doctrines seem like an odd way to describe the indescribable relation one has with his Creator, Savior, Brother, King, etc. In his frustration, he trolls good threads like this one and seems to make up stuff about those he considers his adversaries.

Okay. I do know what we are talking about. I've argued with TER about as much as I've argued with you. That said he did not say what you falsely claimed he said in this thread! That's why I specifically said who said anything in this thread to the contrary. TER posted a nice thread about someone who was pursuing a worldly life and left it to become a priest and help people. While I disagree with the theology of the organization he joined, I think it's a nice story of someone doing some good things anyway. Everything doesn't have to turn into an argument about theology.

Because you seem to have the snippy effect to me, and I in my weakness, succumb to it. The better answer would be: Why are you saved and this man isn't when he is actually following Christ rather then sitting in front of the computer and stirring the pot and thinking they are somehow helping God be glorified? Perhaps one day you too will enter into the Kingdom, even before me, but nevertheless I see the face of Christ in this man much more than I do in the words you type on this screen. And that is why cannot follow your path Sola, or have the same opinion of the Saints as you do.

Here is the second time in this thread where TER says man's good works qualify him for salvation.

You're putting words in his mouth again. I don't know if the moderators tolerate such things here but on most forums I've visited before that would be a big violation of the site's ethical guidelines.

And are you going you going to answer my questions or just dodge them?

No, I'm not putting words into his mouth. That is the second time you've said that, and it is the second time I've posted TER's exact quotes.

Why don't you educate yourself about what the EOC teaches? We live in the age of the internet, there is no excuse.
