The anti-war vote when to McCain, that is what we should be targeting

I think that the problem is still name recognition. People are beginning to recognize the name but still haven't gotten the message. Dr. Paul is not worried about this. McCain has been a recognized name in NH for years, Romney also. It is going to be a long hard fight, but as the candidates drop out more people will notice RP. I am not too discouraged by tonight. A better showing would have been nice, but realistically, all people have been told so far (by the tv) is that RP is a fringe candidate who ran as a libertarian in 88. If we keep working at it, at some point the public's interest is going to get piqued and then we will see.

There are two totally different kind of Anti-war Republicans folks...

There's the immediate withdraw crowd (small pop.)

Then there's the train up Iraqi forces as quickly as possible and get the heck out, crowd.

I know, I've talked to many of them that have come to regret the war. They now wish we never got into it, but don't want the IMMEDIATE withdraw Dr. Paul advocates.

You are right, but let the 100 years statement sink in a little bit. Making people hear what you have to say, especially when they don't want to, is a long, hard process. We must continue just as we have been.

Pushing the 100 year thing would just push them to Romney or Huckabee. I hate to say this, but Paleoconservative/Paleolibertarian factions (anti-intervention) of the Republican party just isn't big enough.

Because the intelligent people who support Dr. Paul do not need to connect with a candidate emotionally, for many voters, that emotional connection trumps. It's sad to see that a majority of voters only can connect in an emotional way.

Michigan offers our next opportunity -- nothing really happening on the Democratic side, it's an open primary, huge Arab-American population, and the economy sucks.

The average voter will apparently vote based on a few glimpses of 30-second ads on TV. As long as these ads talk about abortion, immigration, student visas, the potentially winning anti-war message will be lost on Average Joe.

I'm average too, and I only decided to check out RP when I found out that he was an anti-war Republican. If that oddity hadn't caught my eye, I would know precious nothing right now about monetary policy and the IRS and the troops in Korea.
