Texas neocons voting for obama

So, those who would actually vote for McCain are buying the media bull that he already has it locked up, and voting for the Democrat who will beat McCain by the widest margin. McCain, meanwhile, is tripping over his own election laws, and we are gaining protest voters who were afraid to vote for Ron Paul until the MSM said he couldn't win because they didn't understand that gold standard business but will gladly do a protest vote now that he can't win.

Except that he can win.

The Lord moves in mysterious ways. Let's help Him! Get all of Texas to vote against the NAFTA Superhighway by voting for Ron Paul, and help get McCain off the Ohio ballot!

If my very neocon dad is any indication.

He says that McCain has the republican nomination locked up, so he's going to vote against Hitlery by voting for Obama.

He honestly believes that McCain can win against Obama.

I've been crying my eyes out, not only because he is so &*^%$, but mostly because I have been so inept at changing his mind...

The upside is, of course, that he's not voting against Ron Paul.

Same thing happened in VA. I had several friends who said RP has already lost and voted for Obama to make sure Clinton doesn't get elected.

No, no, no! This is something to keep McCain supporters busy, not ours!

Bwaahhaaahhaaa! That's probably because your dad actually buys this whole "the surge is working" BS. Hillary voted for the war so he must think that strengthens her position. It doesn't. The overwhelming majority of Americans are against this war surge or no surge and any democrat nominated will kick any republicans butt who gets nominated other than Ron Paul. Heck Dennis Kucinich could beat "let's stay in Iraq for 100 years" McCain.

The good news is, as you said, he's not voting against Ron Paul. So lets hope more people who support McCain think they should "strategically" vote for Obama. Let's hope other McCain voters are complacent and stay at home. Maybe we can get some delegates out of this.

That sucks. Seeing those two debate I don't know why anybody thinks there are any real differences between them.

i don't think there's much difference among all three "frontrunners." The whole campaign thing seems like a charade to keep the people busy and distracted from whatever is really going on. the powers that be have been planning on putting hillary in the white house since the 90's. unless they're losing control, she may have this locked up no matter how much the masses may prefer obama. but i think the jabbing and parrying is a game.

Well, he works at halliburton and golfs a lot, so chances are, yes!

Thats all you needed to say. Dad probably gets daily emails telling him how AWESOME business is right now and how they will get huge bonuses, followed by a glowing testament to McCain and the "surge".

My dad did the exact same thing. I'd call him a moderate neo-con, if such a thing exists. He voted for Bush twice, now opposes the War in Iraq, but would redeploy half of the troops to Afghanistan to build schools. He's not crazy about McCain, but he really, really hates Hillary (and Bill for that matter). He said he'd vote McCain over Obama in the general, but it's really anyone but Hillary.

You know its true that freedom brings "us" together, but sadly in this situation with my dad, his resistance, ignorance and pettiness has caused a derision that might never be filled. Maybe I should tell him that I might be the one who takes care of him when he's old, and I'll still remember 2008...

Maybe I should cry. Maybe I should scream at him all the reasons that McCain will not ever never win the general election--could any republican this election? Only Ron Paul.. Maybe I should explain how the media wants the democrats to win and so paints the only viable candidate as an impossible longshot darkhorse fringe lunatic who could never ever win, don't bother finding out who he is, i mean he isn't a polished public speaker, he must be incompetant--just believe us that he's unelectable.

I feel so responsible for every vote I know, and all those I don't=)

I know I should spend my time talking to people who have not yet made up their minds, who's minds are still open--still I feel a great sadness about this, such a personal failure.

Bah! The last person many men will listen to is their own kids. Just a fact of life. The wise ones will, but obviously your dad isn't on that particular list yet. Certainly no fault of yours.

I still remember trying to convince my old man that Nixon was no bastion of law and order. Think my failure was my fault--or that he was right? Well, you're in the same boat--along with about a trillion other sons over the millenia. Welcome to a very, very big club.

LOL.

Your dad is funny. But so long as Hillary doesn't get the nomination or become president either way, I'm fine with that.

You have to realize that these people hedge their bets. It was supposed to be a Giuliani versus Clinton race but he tanked. The people ran from Giuliani in droves and into McCain's "loving arms". Same is happening with Clinton and Obama. But all of these people play for the same team. Sure they want to be "top dog" but it's the machinery behind the government that's really important. At this point if I was a betting man I'd bet Hillary loses but the NWO still wins.
