Tea Party winner Rubio already on his way to Israel

Senator-elect Marco Rubio (R) will head to Israel Sunday, reports Israeli news site Ynetnews.

More from the site:

With victory in the congressional elections less than a day old, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (Rep.) who considers himself a ‘Tea Party’ member, is set to arrive in Israel on Sunday. Rubio’s visit so soon after the election win is a move that strengthens assessments that the congress in its current form will continue where it left off – at least where Israel is concerned.

Rubio gave a speech on Israel in June to the Republican Jewish Coalition “about the need for the United States to stand with Israel without equivocation or hesitation,” criticizing the Obama administration’s handling of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

He also called on the U.S. to move its embassy to Jerusalem and said that the U.S. should not push Israel to a settlement freeze before negotiations. Like America, he said that Israel was an “exceptional” nation.

Neoconservatives loved it. Jennifer Rubin of Commentary called it the best speech on Israel “since George W. Bush went to the Knesset.”

His belief that the U.S. should support Israel unequivocally puts him squarely with Republican Party’s foreign-policy thinking on Israel.

lol. I wonder why people still think America has 50 states. It looks to me like there's a few more than that...

Um? Yeah, the guy is a warhawk and is salivating over the prospect of war with Iran. He is also keen on the US taking a "stronger role" in the Middle East. This has been well-known for a really, really long time. Where on earth have you been?

I don't even think he adores Israel all on its own... he just sees it as a great excuse to pander and preen and ready for the next big war. He's been quoted as saying we shouldn't be surprised if Israel takes matters into its own hands, which is the opposite of what most of the give-money-to-Israel-forever people say (we need to make sure Israel is protected and never has to take matters into their own hands).

Of course, do you really think Meek or Crist would be any better about those things? Maybe Meek would have been; he'd be too busy spending money hand over fist at home to worry too much about Iran and Israel... but Florida was doomed.

No , I think Meek or Crist would be much worse .

Maybe a vacation ?

We all wish.

Double puke.

Some people just have such a strong urge to kiss their ass, I honestly don't understand it.

For the record, I didn't see anyone here support Marco Rubio. Plus, he doesn't represent the Tea Party.

I was never sold on Rubio. I didn't get what all the fuss was about.
