Michigan 11 seems alot like the 4th district of Kentucky. Affluent, heavily Republican, recently redistricted....there are probably other similarities. Maybe someone who is a lot smarter than me could figure out why these districts just nominated anti-fed, anti-war, pro-civil liberties tea party candidates???

Completely different reasons. They nominated Kerry mainly because he was the only name on the ballot, and they nominated Massie in KY-4 for other reasons. Mainly tea party support I would imagine.

my point is that i dont think there is any correlation between affluence and liberty candidates being nominated. the fact that 2 liberty leaning rep's won in affluent, redistricted, heavy republican districts is merely coincidence.
