Taking things from white people

But....she's....white.... So how is this related to....oh nevermind. Crazy thread is crazy.

It was directly related to several other previous posts in the thread, as indicated by all the quoted matter in my post - which was made solely for the purpose of providing additional information within the context of that particular story, not the thread topic in general. (And in my opinion, that particular story doesn't really have anything to do with racially-motivated grifters "taking things from white people", but rather with standard-issue, garden-variety incompetent frauds "taking things from other people" - one of whom merely happened to be white while the other merely happened to be black.)

But speaking of "the thread topic in general":

The thread title identifies the targets of the alleged taking, not the source(s) of it. Much of the pinko-commie progressive left is made up of white people [1], and they are among the primary culprits in promoting and enacting the various "woke" agenda items of Cultural Marxism. White people who stand to gain money [2] and/or power are [3] quite as capable as anyone else when it comes to "taking things from [other] white people".

[1] Especially at universities and other influential institutions (such as corporate boardrooms & HR departments).

[2] Turns out, liberal "white guilt" has substantial cash value.

[3] With the assistance of many "useful idiots" who also happen to be white (especially among the "activist" set).

Okay. I'll be honest. I haven't read everything in this thread. Just pop in every so often to see how crazy it's gotten. Carry on!

The Young Turks in 2024: "STFU Kamala about being black and a woman! Get out of here with your identity politics! We need Joe Biden replaced by someone who can actually beat Trump and that ain't you sista!"

FTR, Kamala Harris is half Asian and half Jamaican and her Jamaican side disowned her.

Edit But I wonder if you consider Clarence Thomas DEI? It's obvious he was picked to replace Thurgood Marshall in part because he's black.

Of course.

There is no doubt that Bush Sr. nominated him, in large part, to have a colored nominee to ease the nomination process (he calculated wrong on that, the Marxists only care about color when it is accompanied by correct-think) and have at least a token on the SCOTUS.

That's not to say he has not been a qualified and, at least from my POV, a correct ruling, judge.

But the fact remains.

3 Mass Shootings in Detroit

2 dead, 19 injured after shooting at block party on Detroit's east side, reports say

Two people are dead and 19 injured after a shooting Sunday morning at a block party on Detroit's east side.

The shooting took place Sunday at a block party in the 13000 block of Rossini Drive, near the intersection with Reno Street, according to a release from the Detroit Police Department. An earlier release from Michigan State Police said there were 19 injured victims and two fatalities.

A 20-year-old woman, who was shot in the head, and a 21-year-old man who was shot in the back were killed, according to WDIV-TV (Channel 4), which also reported the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man pronounced dead at the hospital.

Among the injured is a 17-year-old girl in critical condition, 13 people in temporary serious condition and three in stable condition, according to WDIV.

No one is in custody, according to MSP.

“The violence at several block parties over the last three days has been heartbreaking for this city. Young people and innocent neighbors are being put at risk every weekend. Chief (James) White and I will hold a full briefing tomorrow to discuss this spike in violence at these events and our plans to address it," Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said in a statement to the Free Press.

John Roach, Duggan spokesman, said they understood there were other instances of violence at other block parties over the weekend.Specific details were not immediately available. The topic will be addressed at a press conference slated for Monday, Donakowski told the Free Press.

City Councilman Scott Benson lives just a couple blocks away from where the shooting took place and said he was "shaken" on Sunday. He was asleep when it happened but he’s heard of a block party spilling over, yelling, and screams for help in reports from his community leaders. He was told multiple guns were recovered from the scene — nine, according to his information. He questioned why anyone would feel the need to bring a gun to a block party."Phone, keys, gun? Why is the gun on the list?" he said.Even in his military career, the number of people harmed overnight stood out, he said. And he was thinking of the children and community members this happened near as he spoke.Everyone in the community needs to come together to fight this violence, Benson said. He said conversations are already happening about moving citizen patrols to different hours so they can spot potential issues and alert police at the times when such shootings more often take place. He’s also aware of police communications on cracking down on block parties. He hopes those in Lansing and at the federal level also act, saying there has to be a solution on access to guns. The fact that the perpetrators could still be on the loose "feels terrible," Benson said."We can’t continue to have this level of violence," he said.

State Rep. Mai Xiong, D-Warren, whose district includes the area, said the community must "unite and make meaningful action to prevent these occurrences."

“I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the recent shooting near Detroit’s northeast side," Xiong said in a statement. "My heart goes out to the victims, their families and everyone affected by this senseless act of violence. During what should have been a joyous celebration during Independence Day weekend, we are instead faced with a devastating reminder that gun violence is hitting too close to home, right in our own backyards.

“As a community, we should be coming together to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the liberties we cherish, not living in fear of such tragedies. This incident underscores the urgent need to address gun violence and work towards creating a safer environment for all.

“Together, we can and must find solutions to ensure that our neighborhoods are safe havens where families can thrive without fear. Let us honor the victims by committing to this vital cause and working tirelessly to bring about change.”

Okay. Thank you for your honesty. (And I wouldn't expect anything less from you). I'm working on a theory of DEI for the YouTube channel / blog that I've been procrastinating on launching for years. I think it gets a bad rap because people implementing it sometimes take shortcuts. Bush couldn't take a shortcut with Clarence Thomas and just through up anybody because, as you point out, there was going to be obvious opposition from Democrats. Likewise when the "Tuskegee Airmen" experiment, they had to be good because so many people were gunning (no pun intended) for them to fail. That's different from throwing someone in a position only to check off a diversity box. Also during WW 2 there was a dire need for fighter pilots so it's not like any aspiring qualified white pilots didn't get their shot as well.

Plus, back at that time, merit and qualifications were taken more seriously. Sure, GHWB wanted to put a black person on the court, but he also had to choose a high caliber person.

Today with the Marxist implementation of DEI and wokeism, merit is out the window in favor of politics and "to check off a diversity box". It seems that part of the leftist strategy is to intentionally put incompetent people in places of power, to divide and create chaos and outrage.

Exactly right.

Yeah....I don't think that happens as much as you think it happens. Look at nursing. There is a nursing shortage. There are a lot of Filipino nurses filling that shortage. From everything I've seen they are qualified to be in the positions. Same with the minority and women pilots United Airlines trained to deal with a pilot shortage. They've had to go through the same FAA qualifications as anyone else. And I've seen Bret Kavanaugh say things that are just as cringe as anything Kentanji (sp?) Brown Jackson has said such as Bret saying that he had to upload Trumps tax repatriation rule because otherwise most of the tax code might be deemed unconstitutional and we just can't have that!

Don't get me started on my opinion of the "healthcare system" and the general incompetence there.

Kavanaugh is post merit. He is there because of Opus Dei, and it was a political appointment.
