Its one thing to diss hip hop, but to.....
Well shit-hop has been dying big time. I used to be way into it, it's just been really shitty since the early 90s imo.
And the 80s were about synthpop and electronic-rock acts I mean, the acts you named don't sell out wembly stadium or the rose bowl like duran duran, billy idol or depeche mode still do.
And all the new electro-clash stuff and all of it's variences have a very 80s feel. All accross the U.S. and Where I live I see far more 80s flashback clubs and
electro-clash music DOMINATING THE CLUBS. Played far more than shit-hop. The clubs are into 80s stuff again and I think it's because of all the shit music that's played in the mainstream that club owners go back to something that was great. And I've been all over California to see this. Sure some podunk dipshit towns might still play shit-hop but they haven't nary a clue about what good music is
If you wanted proof on who the kids are listening to, look no futher than this youtube comparison of kanye west, and My Chemical Romance.
Now you yell me, who has more page hits???

MCR has 14 million more hits. So given the even playing field we can clearly see that teens want MCR over shit-hops top seller, kanye west.
I'm sure there will always be thousands of morons accross the u.s. that will still follow stale shit-hop stuff, just like there are retards who eat up the paris hilton, shitney spears, poo-dooty, 20 cents, jusitn timerfake drek.

The rapper Nas, considered one of the greats, challenged the condition of the art form when he titled his latest album “Hip-Hop is Dead.” It’s at least ailing, according to recent statistics: Though music sales are down overall, rap sales slid a whopping 21 percent from 2005 to 2006, and for the first time in 12 years no rap album was among the top 10 sellers of the year. A recent study by the Black Youth Project showed a majority of youth think rap has too many violent images. In a poll of black Americans by The Associated Press and AOL-Black Voices last year, 50 percent of respondents said hip-hop was a negative force in American society.

Hip hop sales are down. According to Nielsen SoundScan, sales in the Rap category dropped 20.7% compared with sales in 2005. That is the second largest drop behind the New Age category, which fell 22.7%. Right behind in this dismal race is R&B with a drop of 18.4%. Of course record sales are down across the industry, but the average change is only -2.4% with some genres, such as Classical, gaining as many percentage points as Rap lost. Clearly hip hop, which has been the darling of the record industry these last few years, is in trouble.
Rap sales are down? Will someone tell MTV? - Tweak3D.Net
Rap sales are down 33% from last year, it's popularity is in rapid decline. ... Mississippi Burning: Like Dale Earnhardt crashing into a wall! ...

Rap sales are down 33% from last year, it's popularity is in rapid decline. But you'd never know it watching MTV. I have MTV marked as a favorite on my cable, although I rarely actually watch. And here's why: every single time I flip past it they are playing a rap video. Every.. single... time.... I started keeping track and of the 5-10 times I've gone past every night for the last week it was rap or a commercial 100%.
So is MTV trying to keep rap alive by pumping the crap 24/7?
im glad i block that channel. mtv has been out of my life since the 11th grade.
Maybe it's more like "better taste in music is up 33%".
