Superbowl Commercial needed for 99% name recognition on super tueday.

I have spent today researching political ads for the superbowl.

The ads that were denied were LOCAL ads not national ads....

The networks give several ads to their affiliates to sell locally. These are the ads that were refused in the past.

There is nothing to stop national political ads during the superbowl, as a matter of fact I have seen MANY articles debating if this is the first year we will see a superbowl political ad because of it's proximity to super Tuesday.

This suggestion has had many more views than any other.

Despite the large views, this thread still has a 5 star rating.

For those of us who like football....we KNOW what a marketing BONANZA a superbowl ad is.

This is it......

A superbowl ad is the great equalizer, a chance to reach most of the people we are not reaching with our message, some on these forums call them uninformed voters....others call them sheeple....no matter what you call them, these are the people we are not reaching, and here is our 1 AND ONLY CHANCE BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY TO MARKET RON PAUL AND THE MESSAGE OF LIBERTY AND FREEDOM TO THE MASSES OF AMERICANS WE ARE NOT REACHING..

This is a NO-Brainer for anyone who knows anything about marketing.

Please HQ, consider this, you have two weeks to make it happen....there won't be a second chance....nothing could bring us the super Tuesday results we desire more than a superbowl ad, it's a chance for RP to stump his platform to the uniformed masses we haven't reached and pull the ultimate super Tuesday upset.

I don't know how many of the rest of the posters here realize what a chance this is for us.......but if we don't do this and have a bad super Tuesday results....

Don't say there wasn't anyone in the RP camp that didn't have the good sense to suggest this....here is our chance to reach the people we are not reaching for 3 mil or less....140 million viewers....HQ...please take note and make this happen..this is our BEST chance for a super Tuesday upset.

I think everyone loves this idea, but nobody is sure if its actually feasible. National HQ probably likes this idea too... so it'll be up to them to determine if its financially viable, considering they still need a lot of money to blanket the Super Tuesday states with ads.

if that blimp is still flying it needs to get out of fla go to Louisiana then directly to arizona...

For less than 3 million, HQ can hit EVERY super Tuesday state with deep penetration, as well as every primary state AFTER super Tuesday as well as all states that have already had a primary for the general election.

The amount of publicity for having the 1st political superbowl ad is unmeasurable.

From the Today show, to Goodmorning america, to just about every National, Local and World outlet, they all do stories just on superbowl commercials....this is it....our one chance to get more publicity bang for the buck than any other option on the face of the earth....

I know it's alot....but it's worth it....we won't see a better value for advertising dollars anywhere else.

Don't believe superbowl commercials by candidates are allowed, tried a few years back by others.

It cost millions to do one 30 second spot. We could reach more viewers, on more occasions, for a cheaper price tag by using other methods.

Great enthusiasm though, we do need better ads (check here: http://www.operationbroadcastfreedom.com/index.html ) although the new military one is a step up from the previous ones.

EVERYONE has their PRICE! I'm sure FAUX would say yes if you give the GREEDY CAPITALISTIC CLOWNS a PREMIUM off and it was: INNOVATIVE, HUMOROUS, & LIKEABLE to the viewers and screeners.

no, no they wouldnt.
why would they risk their empire for a couple million.

No way would one ad to a bunch of drunks sink in, to people who usually are sheeple minded bread and circus freaks and care nothing about politics. If it was done, the ad would have to be so mind blowing too shock the sheep. It would have to be an ad that would scare. Like an a WW3 abombs exploding because one votes for anyone else or showing every man and woman between the ages of 18 and 42 going to war because they will be drafted. Or show big food lines when the economy collapses, but that is still too complex for the drunks to figure out. Most major great campaign ads in the past worked because they scared people to the opposition.IMO

.

Yes! There will be almost enough money for this ad collected today alone.

It needs to be a SHOCKING ad that will get people's attention.

No more 'Me-Too' Also-Ran ads!

The timing is right. The dollar is on the ropes. The stock market is on the ropes. The Fed is panic-cutting rates. They are going to shower money out of helicopters. They are trying to keep everyone calm. It's time to ROCK THE NATION about what confronts us.

I donated money to get Dr. Paul on TV. What is left to lose by shocking people now? If we are going to lose, at least let there be a lot of conversation about what is causing the demise of our economy, so the groundwork is laid in the public mind for freedom candidates for congress and state legislators.

PLEASE!

This is why the commercial needs to be: INNOVATIVE, HUMOROUS/FUNNY, MEMORABLE.

Unfortunately, the Ron Paul Campaign Management/Operations are about as INNOVATIVE as the GEICO CAVMEN's "STONE WHEEL"

THEN AGAIN... IT'S MARKETING....

Jeez -- NO POLITICAL ADS on the SUPERBOWL.

Back up your assertion.

I have researched this and only have found one instance where a local affiliate station refused to run a political ad during the superbowl.

As far as I can conclude from my research, there is nothing stopping a political ad from running nationally during the superbowl.

Prove you can't run political ads on a national level during the superbowl. But I think after you do your research, you won't be able to prove it.

This is a viable ad, so don't believe the naysayers that are telling you you can't run a political ad during the superbowl until they back it up with proof.

I don't think this is even possible. I am sure every single second or ad time has alreayd been bought wand probably is done so a year in advance. Just a guess.

Correct, other threads have pointed out that CBS once had a policy of not accepting political ads, but they don't have the Superbowl this year.

The ad I recommend the campaign (or an outside group) run is this grassroots created spot:

No offense, But I'm an avid Ron Paul supporter and even I had difficulty having that ad keep my attention. To be blunt, I thought it was boring and typical "vote for me" stuff. Nowhere near the caliber of a superbowl commercial. You have to think about who the audience is of the superbowl and what they are doing while they are watching it. People watching the superbowl don't want to watch a downer that makes them crawl under the blanket. It's not about spreading the message either. It would have to be all about simple name recognition - and you do that with memorable humor. The best example would be the Lego Ron Paul video. Although I think Lego might object to it without their permission. This is all just hypothetical talk anyway since I doubt there is any ad time available anymore to buy in the first place.

I mostly agree, although I cringe when I think about a 'funny' Presidential ad. I like this ad:

i'm sure it's already been posted, but i don't feel like reading the entire thread to find out... so here it is again.

That's the only grassroots ad I'd want to see on TV. And it's the only one I've seen that I would even consider donating any money to. But even it isn't really superbowl commercial material.

I like both commercial spots. The fan ad allows you to read Paul's name twice, and shows his face for about 2 seconds. The save America one SAYS Ron Paul's name several times and shows his face for about 8 seconds, which is more helpful for a candidate who STILL lacks name recognition. If we could assemble the millions needed, it would be optimal to run both that and the 'Credence Clearwater' spots at the Superbowl.

A Superbowl ad would be freaking awesome!

You're right though, none of this melodramatic crap they've been airing so far.

I wish Paul would do some aggressive ads where he's just standing there, looking at you, making direct statements like "I'm the only candidate who will bring the troops home immediately. I'm the only candidate who has never voted to spend from Social Security fund. I'm the only candidate who...." etc. etc.

Paul's ads so far have looked too much like the other guys.
