SUCCESS: Texas Gov. Rick Perry Adds Anti-TSA Groping Bill to Special Session!

He caved to the people's demands. Let it be known what his official position was.
Mr 'Slick' Perry will use this as a stepping stone when he enters the GOP presidential race. "See, I'm for the people, constitution..." count on him using populist rhetoric for advancement.

Class A misdemeanor with a maximum of one year confinement or $4000 fine ... pretty weak, but it's a start.
You know Perry & company are "Lawyered-Up" to use some sort of loophole for TSA to still violate the people. I say it moves up the judicial ladder and the TX bill if passes, will get struck down by a higher court under the umbrella of (Safety To the Public/National Security/General Welfare of the Majority). Sounds like an ideal case for the policy makers on the SCOTUS to nix.

pass it & let's see what the feds do then. Go Texas.

Well, if the feds close down the air traffic over Texas, other states need to do the same thing and let the Feds wonder how to handle the situation. How many states can they include in their 'no-fly' zone, before the airports and airlines raise hell about it?

Take the money away from businesses and then the government will catch hell. Either they'll(.gov) compromise or the standard operating procedure of destroying anyone/anything that interferes with the faso-corporatist US government operational control.

Its ok, there are a lot of other things that he can beat up about.

If you haven't been convinced of Rick Perry's "conversion", that is fine.

But there is no reason to bash the guy when he is doing the right thing.

If you must bash him, find an issue he is wrong about, start another thread and bash away.

It's just like training a dog: positive reinforcement for good actions, negative reinforcement for bad actions.

The positive reinforcements he receives being a part of the machine far outweigh any pat on the head we could give him.

You really think after trying to take 4 Million acres of Texan's land via eminent domain so he could give it to a private corporation, that he's coming around to the side of liberty?

Chron.com said:
Gov. Rick Perry introduced the Trans-Texas Corridor concept six years ago, calling for a network of broad corridors linking major cities, with toll roads for cars and trucks, tracks for freight and passenger rail, and space for pipelines and power lines.

The $175 billion, 4,000-mile network was needed, he said, to accommodate rapid growth of the state's population and the expected increase in Mexican truck traffic following passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA.

The idea drew criticism from the start, criticism that intensified after Perry announced the state had contracted with a Spanish consortium to build and operate one of the sections of the controversial network.
This gesture of his is a dog bone that he has thrown to the liberty crowd. You seem to enjoy it. I fear the pandering politician.

This happened to him 2 days ago --

Awesome! This is what it's about. Putting pressure on these gummy worm politicians until they squirm in our direction. I don't trust Perry as far as I can throw him. It's great to see that he's following the will of the people even if he had to be brought along kicking and screaming.

The video says "Will the REAL Rick Perry please stand up..." I strongly disagree... I'd like the REAL Rick Perry to remain seated, and this fake one that is posturing by including the Anti-TSA bill in Texas' special session to keep doing crap like that...

Though I believe it is just posturing, if it passes that means Texans may gain just a tad bit of their freedom back, and I'm all for that...

+rep! When it's time for Perry to run again for anything I'm rooting for the other guy/gal unless they are worse. But I find this encouraging because it shows the power of political pressure. If Obama were to cave and quit bombing Libya and pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq I wouldn't trust Obama either but I'd be glad for the victories for liberty.

Houston and Dallas are big enough, American Airlines and Continental are both going to go ballistic if the FED shuts down Texas. DFW is a top ten busiest airport!!

Can't Texas just kick the feds out and have the Texas Ranger's arrest them if they refused to leave?

If the Feds shut down travel: THAT would be an act of terrorism.

I'll respond point by point, paragraph by paragraph...

Conversion? What "conversion"? Every politician has their moments... BTW, I also gave Perry credit for vetoing the "no texting while driving bill"... doesn't change the fact that he is a bad governor... Could he be worse? Absolutely, a lot worse! But I'd argue he's closer to the floor than the ceiling...

Is he doing the right thing, or is he just posturing? My answer: Yes! The right thing is to stop the TSA from violating us, and by including the anti-TSA bill in the special session he is doing that... But.com, there's a video on this very thread that shows he didn't want to, seeing how he lied to a man that there weren't enough votes (are) and that there isn't enough time (plenty for one frickin' vote)... Add that up with the fact that the man's name is Rick Perry, and you can see why this move is nothing more than "posturing" for a run at PotUS... "Look, I killed a coyote on my morning jog by shooting it with a cedar-twig I blew out my rolled-up newspaper, vetoed a nanny-state bill and stood up for states' rights by telling the government to keep their hands off our children, vote for me, neighbor!"

Personally, one Slick Dick Rick thread on the front page of general politics is enough... Perry = douche no matter what thread his name is in...

Perry's not a dog, he's the one holding the leash... and if you buy this guy's chit and thinking he's "converting" you're sittin', rollin' over, playing dead and "speaking" on command...
