Update - Call Your State Reps! --

Contact your Senator:

http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/

When you contact your Senator, tell them to call TSA's bluff. The TSA can ensure the public's safety using other technology/methods like the air puffer machines without violating the people's rights and dignity.

From the C4L:

The Senators listed below may be sitting on the fence and need some extra attention:

Sen. Juan Hinojosa

Sen. Leticia Van de Putte
(512) 463-0126
[email protected]

Sen. Robert Duncan
512-463-0128
[email protected]

Tell them you want Texans to be protected from federal violations of their Fourth Amendment rights.

Sen. Leticia Van de Putte of San Antonio, head of the Senate Democratic Caucus, said she hates such searches and initially was going to vote for Patrick's bill in the regular session before she learned about the potential effect on air travel in Texas. Read the article here.

Perry adds pat-down ban to special session

Associated Press
June 20, 2011

Gov. Rick Perry has added legislation banning "intrusive" airport security screenings among the items in the special legislative session.

Texas Rep. David Simpson sponsored a bill in the House last month that would make it a criminal offense for officials conducting traveler pat-downs to touch "the anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast of another person" including through clothing.

The measure died in the Senate after a threat from federal officials to close airports if it were approved.

Texas Governor Rick Perry is stalling on calling up SB 29, the anti-TSA groping bill, for the special session, now claiming there is not enough time.

Texas Officials Groped by TSA As Anti-Groping Bill Makes Comeback
High-ranking Texas officials groped by agents with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are sounding off about the scandal in the press, adding more pressure on state lawmakers and Gov. Rick Perry to resurrect a bill criminalizing the invasive measures without probable cause.

Washington Times: "Texas Senators Need to Grow a Backbone"
After federal TSA agents bullied Texas legislators, threatening to end air travel in and out of Texas if its popular anti-TSA bill passed, Senators withdrew the bill.

Feds "Mess With Texas," Attack Anti-TSA Bill
Texas bill H.B. 1937 that would have made Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents liable for sexual assault when groping passengers without probable cause was pulled from the Senate floor after the Department of Justice sent a letter threatening to create what critics called a “no-fly zone” over the state by preventing flights to or from Texas airports. lets get this bill passed as law and make this globalist shill squirm as he signs it into law

Probably just redefining oppression in terms beneficial to official legal oppression.

If this passes things are about to get real interesting. Perry would also be in charge of enforcing the law correct? Sheriffs could also be the ones to initiate an arrest?

Class A misdemeanor with a maximum of one year confinement or $4000 fine ... pretty weak, but it's a start.

The actual penalties aren't the issue. If it passes, the TSA's current MO is done in Texas. Chertoff is going lose his shit, but whoever makes those puffer sniffers or whatever they are called will likely benefit (along with anyone travelling in and through Texas).

Well that for sure means he is running for President and trying to pretend to conservative bona fides.

This happened to him 2 days ago --

The video says "Will the REAL Rick Perry please stand up..." I strongly disagree... I'd like the REAL Rick Perry to remain seated, and this fake one that is posturing by including the Anti-TSA bill in Texas' special session to keep doing crap like that...

Though I believe it is just posturing, if it passes that means Texans may gain just a tad bit of their freedom back, and I'm all for that...
