Style or substance?

A march on Washington is great to send a message and high on style. I suggest we coordinate the date based on the boring stuff (permit availability, Dr. Paul's schedule, etc.) and ALSO have it soon before the VA Congressional primaries/conventions so that we can invite all of you to help us canvass in support of the Ron Paul Republicans running to take back our party and our country.

In short, we need to step up to the plate with substance as well as style.

I believe Dr. Paul mentioned that the Washington gathering would have to be a "Ron Paul Rally" due to the permit complications associated with marching. Also, didn't he say that the main campaign would decide the date? Please correct me if I'm wrong. However, if true, waiting would probably be our best option right now - that is, continuing to donate, canvass, and help Ron Paul retain his congressional seat.

If it's an unaffiliated, grassroots march/mass-canvass (incorporating both is plausible) you're after, then we might want it to take place after the rally. Perhaps set up huge "JOIN THE REVOLUTION (or something more PC) enlistment booths that could organize participants?

I think I see what you're saying. If this is to be worthwhile, it needs to be much more than just a "feel good" event. Instead it should be the basis from which to build a true small-government movement . This means we need to work within the existing structural framework. CATO, I.H.S., Downsize DC, S.S.D.P., the F.S.P., the R.L.C...all of these organizations and others should be an integral part of this event. Too many RP supporters seem to want to reinvent the wheel. This country is not going to be turned around by lofty ideals; success will only come about through the widespread utilization of practical, pragmatic efforts.

When is your primary?

I'm glad to see people get this. There are opportunities for everyone to help us. The Ron Paul Republicans running in Maryland could probably use some help preparing for the general elections--several of them already won their primaries.

More urgently, we have some Ron Paul Republicans running in NOVA (Northern Virginia) with primaries/conventions in June. Having lots of potential volunteers arrive in the metro area like the calvary BEFORE our primary to help us canvass would be huge!

Actually, there are lots of tasks we need to accomplish now that we've finished with the presidential Potomac Primaries.
If there is anyone willing to help out--even online, database, phone banking, etc., please PM me with McKinley for Congress in the subject line.
We are running against a long-time incumbent Frank Wolf on the Appropriations Committee who has gone native. Our campaign has already been credited for getting Wolf to change his position on earmarks and has generated interest in lots of Republican circles.

You mean we can start discussing the color of the podium that speakers will talk from, and the kind of clothes we will wear at the rally, and perhaps the chants that we'll all sing when we breakout in spontaneous exuberance? Yeah, that'll probably scare the pants of all those DC Insiders who are plotting to sign-into law HR1955/ SR1959 and to amalgamate the US with a British Commonwealth County (ie. Canada) - can't wait to become a POHM (prisoner of her majesty).

Wow, I just can't wait to hear AJ speak to the audience. Should he discuss the JFK assassination, pending Marshall Law or how Yuppies are the cause of our downfall? Or, better yet, I'm panting with anticipation about getting to listen to Naomi Wolf. What part of her book, "The End of America," should we get her to talk about? Better yet, perhaps we should just focus on how can we get all of the current agent provocateurs together in one Rally. That way, we get to hear all of their predictive programming and fear mongering in one place, and walk away knowing that we did our best but it is all lost now.

I certainly hope the campaign takes this by the balls and runs with it, cause if the grassroots are left to organize this event, it's going to be a field day for the propagandists.

I'm talking about getting all of the people coming to DC for the rally to schedule a day or more helping us canvass for regional Ron Paul Republicans. Our primary for Vern McKinley is June 10th, so if anyone can help canvass, that would be great. Our district goes from the DC metro suburbs all the way out to West Virginia!
