Sexist Men Like Big Boobs? Male Attitudes May Predict Breast Size Preference, Says Study
[/h]It seems cliche, but it just might be true. The more sexist a man is, the more likely he is to be into big boobs.

A recent study from the University of Westminster, published in February in theArchives of Sexual Behavior, showed that men's attitudes toward women influence their attitudes about ideal breast size. The researchers interviewed 361 white, heterosexual men, ranging in age from 18 to 68. (Since ethnicity has been previouslyshown to impact how individuals perceive breast size, the researchers decided to pull participants from just one self-identified racial category.) Each man was shown five different 3-D models of women, each with a different breast size, and then asked to record which "woman" he found most physically attractive.

Afterward, the participants were given surveys which measured each man's level of hostility toward women, his attitudes about relationships between men and women, benevolent sexism and how much he objectified women.

The researchers found that the largest percentage of participants (32.7 percent) rated medium-sized breasts as "most attractive," followed by large (24.4 percent), very large (19.1 percent), small (15.5 percent) and very small (8.3 percent). However, a preference for large and very large breasts was significantly correlated with overt sexism, benevolent sexism, female objectification and hostile attitudes toward women. This connection was strongest when it came to benevolent sexism. In other words, men who tend to idealize "traditional" femininity and perceive women as meek and weak, are also the most likely to prefer big boobs. "It is arguable that benevolently sexist men perceived larger female breasts as attractive because larger breast size on a woman is associated with perceived femininity," wrote the researchers.

The findings don’t mean that all men who find big breasts attractive are sexist. Also, knowing that some guys may associate your big boobs with weakness is NOT a reason to have a breast reduction. But this research is a good reminder that social ideas about what makes a woman sexually desirable don't just impact the way women feel about themselves or how they imagine men perceive them. Those ideas impact the way that men view women -- both how attractive and how powerful men think they are.

As an additional data point I can personally verify the conclusion drawn by this study

I like big boobs but I would like to see how they exactly measure hostility towards women. Knowing the sort of things some of these new age feminist consider to be assault (like undressing a woman), I will have to see the survey before determining if the study is accurate

lolz You should publish your findings. I must be an outlier...I like all sorts of boobs and I'm sexist. :D lolz As my old amigo Eric likes to say, "more than a mouthful is a waste". (they're all good in their own way, though IMO)

Maybe we should give a little thought to presenting the forum as a place where women who are interested in liberty might feel comfortable visiting as much as possible.. And in the process begin to push back against the caricature of Ron Paul supporters being nerdy young white males glued to their computer screens.

I honestly don't have a preference. There is such a thing of too big, but boob size is one of the last few things I notice on a girl.

Sheesh! It's not like I made it up. It's a legit study. Even the right wing talk shows talk about these sort of irreverent things on occasion. We're going to be stereotyped and insulted by the establishment and regime no matter what we do. Just have some fun on the interwebz once in a while. :D It's probably not a subject you should bring up in mixed company, of course. :toady:

You're in mixed company.

It's possible, given some of the activity over the last few months in particular, that you won't be for long.

no way - it's about the curves - the ratio - big chest or small don't mean a thing -
whether you're a minute-glass or an hour-glass, you make my bell ring

As a woman with big boobs I find men who consider themselves to be boob men immature. A man who talks to my breast and does not look me in the eye first would never find themselves in my bed.

Suddenly I find your opinion much more credible :p

I confess to having wrote a comment but erased it before clicking on reply. But, it's telling that you don't think of the forum as "mixed company." If we think back to Ron Paul's voting demographics, women were not Ron's greatest voting block. Maybe we can make paleoconservatism appealing to a lot more women moving forward.

There are plenty of reasons why Ron struggled with the female voting demagraphic, but boob topics on RPF isn't one of them.

No, but the same people that make those comments and topics went to meetups, at least in my personal experience. They did not behave any differently. Creeptarians are everywhere, and it certainly is not a net gain to getting things done politically.

Anyhow, the study methodology is flawed.

Well, it's mixed, but I mean people here don't get offended easily and most subjects are fair game. To me, this forum has a more light-hearted feel to it (particularly in the off-topic/hot topic areas). It's more like being at a virtual bar/casual club than a formal meeting place.

I've also been around long enough to get a feel for what is okay to talk about.

Srsly? I am disappoint. :( (I've never been to a meetup group or party meeting, so I didn't know about this)
