Starcraft 2 kicks ass! Very anti-authoritarian campaign theme so far...

Oh, and a word to the wise: When you create your bnet account, don't put your real name. Blizz implementing bnet 2.0 and are trying to implement a REAL ID type system to connect with your friends. They were even trying to implement having your real name show up on forum posts on the internet as well thru ur bnet profile but that eventually got scratched.

I was in beta, been following the game very closely. There is no b.net fee. As far as the three separate campaigns, I can't confirm that.

Just talked to my friend who just bought it. Said he likes it - great cutscenes, much more in depth than the first game - with very nicely polished graphics.

He confirmed that Battle.Net is in fact free, but the game only comes with the terran (human) campaign - and you must purchase the other two separately at a later date.

He pretty much convinced me to get it - so I think I'll pick it up. The 3 separate campaign thing though pisses me the fuck off. Apparently it's worth it to me though, so be it!

I just bought it (couldn't wait 13 hours for the DL I already waited 12 years!)

I downloaded installed and started playing within about an hour.

Not sure why so many people have been saying the DL takes forever.

Although I loved Starcraft, *nothing* ever came close to the satisfaction of single player Rome: TOtal War. I beat that game on hardest difficulty - fucking fun as shit.

Haven't played medieval total war, empire total war, etc though. They looked pretty awesome.

So I bought it and played it.

Played multi-player a few times, and like usual, get obliterated, usually.

I just never was good at video games.

Really? I was following it's development for a while, and read everywhere that in order to play online on battle.Net you had to pay for it. Has this changed?

I also read that Starcraft 2 contained the Terran campaign, and that you had to buy the other campaigns (races) seperately to finish the campaign. Did this also change?
You're probably thinking of WoW, which is a subscription-based game that uses battle.net. For others, no. I still play Warcraft III online all the time.

It took them this long for the sequel?

Wow, I played Starcraft in high school.

Your grandchildren might play Starcraft 3.

I been waiting 10 years for this game. I am very pleased with how it came out.

The campaign is very anti authoritarian.
You are a rebel freedom fighter, your task is to free the colonies from the evil dominion.
The UNN news network is government controlled news, its amusing.

The repeated "man up. sounds like a plan. Raiders Roll", is just like the first game, audio unit response so you know you have given command. I am used it it from starcraft 1.

Someone questioned performance on another forum so I thew up a quick video.

No one is going to win a multiplayer game after only a few games.

I'm not picking this game up until late fall/winter, when I'll have more time to really get into the game. I can't imagine how hard it's going to be able to get into multiplayer by that point.

Traditional ranked multiplayer in the Blizz RTS series has been kinda shit. From the reviews I've read on the game, it's a recurring problem in SC2.

It's really difficult to appreciate a game when the primary "tactic" involves zerging before opponents have any sort of military. That's why I have/will almost always play UMS games exclusively in their RTS games.

There's been a lot of confusion about this on the Internet, primarily because Blizz was withholding so much info about SC2. Blizz stated Battle.Net ladder play would be fee-based -- as in tournament-play. However, all other traditional Battle.Net services for SC2 are free. There is no fee to play regular or UMS games on Battle.Net.

still waiting for what sid meier's sim putt putt golf course should have been. or an open source hellgate:london / quake arena download.

In college, I played a lot of games. Only the best I remember.

Counter Strike!! Isn't this game still being played?
Diablo II was great, but thinking back on it...a waste of time...just trying to level up all the time. I'd be interested in Diablo III. I don't think it is popular here in Korea.
Starcraft (I personally didn't like this game.)
Warcraft 2 rocked.
I played Warcraft 3 before leaving college. It was cool, but I felt it had too many hotkeys.
I liked Command and Conquer series A LOT!!!!
I like AoEII the most!! BEST EVER!!

Starcraft III doesn't interest me.
AoE III interests me, but I never played it.
Diablo III came out already??? I never played it either.

I haven't played a computer game since I left college.

you mean cheesing and it's a common tactic that many noobs cannot seem to stand up against, for sure, but it's not the game's fault really, just build units and stop being a slow noob. :D;)
