I agree somewhat. My biggest expense as a young person was education. (The minimum wage job was to help pay for private school.) In college I got a computer tech job that was $6.50, not quite double minimum wage but close. (Woo-hoo!) I finished at a state school and lived at home to keep down expenses. The tuition was about $1,700. Now it's about $4,300. That's 2.5 x more. $3.35 x 2.5 = $8.38. So tuition has risen faster than the minimum wage. Adjusting my computer tech job $6.50 * 2.5 = $16.25. More than the box packer makes in Springfield Ohio but not much. Most computer tech jobs in Springfield seem to be starting at $20 - $25 though I did see one at $15.
