Southern accents

I thought the same thing when I heard them all talking. They sounded like the "non-accents" that reporters haven after working hard to remove any hint of an accent from their voices so they are marketable anywhere in the country. (saw a story on how they do this years ago) But I would expect even transplants to have some kind of accent.

Nope sorry. I might know him though if he lives in Mooresville though.

One of the Charlotte meetup group ass't organizers works with NASCAR, so I just assumed from the NASCAR comment :)

In either event, hope to see you at the Gaston county followup straw poll on Monday night at Alfred and Charlies!

Are you familiar with the South? Everyone doesn't sound like Forrest Gump...

Ya, but come on, I've lived in the south for about 85% of my life, and I would say that south of Northern VA, 7 out of 10 people you run across will have at least a slight southern accent. Once you get from Charlotte south, I'd say that jumps up to 4 out of 5 people (even WITH the transplants)

I didn't think they sounded very Southern either, with the exception of maybe two or three people. They definitely didn't sound like they were from Chucktown. I say feed them some shrimp and grits and see what happens. :D

Post the group on Youtube and let the public decide. I have relatives from South Carolina and they were just up for Christmas.
In the South they have a very distinct accent.
Most of the members in this focus group had no accent at all.

BORN AND RAISED IN THE SOUTH......and I would bet everything I have that those people were NOT from South Carolina. I said the same thing to my wife.

Those people did NOT have southern accents.

So, how do you get interviewed to be in the focus group? I'm convinced they're all fake/manipulated, but I at least thought the NH groups were from NH.

Btw...........shrimp and grits are fricking delicious

Ain't that the truth! I love low country cooking! Born and raised in Bama, lived in the ATL for 5 years and now in Tennessee, married on Folly Beach pier and I vacation in Chucktown every year...most of those folk didn't sound Southern to me.
