The Delegate Selection Caucuses are coming up March 1st, so call your county Republican Party, and get the location. It's a 8pm local time, Thursday March 1st. Each county sends 3 delegates to the regional caucuses where are in Pierre that next SAterday March 10th. The state caucuses are the same day in the afternoon.

Here's some PDF's uploaded to the Sioux FAll's Meet-up site.

Here's the rules

and
And here's the instructions and schedual for this time around.

We've got Minnehaha covered, and region 2 and most of Region 6. both I haven't heard work from anybody in regions 3, 4o and 5. So, I'm spreading the word here hoping that Ron Paul people from other parts of the state take notice.

This is the process by which each candidate decides who's going to be on their delegate slate.

If we don't have a full slate of delegates, the State party appoints the rest if we win more delegates then we have, so it's important.

EAch county can send 3 delegates to the regional caucuses, but we need AT LEAST 8 from each reagion (except 10 from region 6 -- the Repid city area)

Everybody needs to CALL their local county Republican Party, or county auditor and find the location for your particular county caucus.

If you have specific questions about the process please PM me. Least year, I was 2nd on Paul's delegate slate, but we didn't meet the 20% threshhold (we only got 17% last time)

PM me personally if you've got specific questions if you're going to the caucuses and can make it to Pierre March 10th.

Yes. He was polling first here w/ 25% of the vote.

Really, we only need about 50 people (25 delegates, and 25 alts) but this issue is they have to be spead out from across the state.

Last time we had a full slate of delegates, and about half the alternate slots filled, so I'd like to get a full slate of both this time if possible.

There's also an undeclared slate, so if you know you've got more then 3 or more solid Ron Paul people, it might be worth it for some to caucus for the undeclated slate as well. If undeclared gets 20%, the top 5 delegates on that slate will go to national as well.

If you're actually in SD, PM me.

E-mail Josh about that - I would hope they would.

Do you need any resources? Cash to transport people, etc? I, and I'm sure others, would love to be able to help if there is any way we can.

No. It's just a matter of finding the location of the County Caucus for the County that you're registered REpublican to vote in, and showing up.

If you know anybody in northern South Dakota that wants to be a Ron Paul delegate tell them about this is the main thing.

Region 3 which includes Brookings, and Lake county, Region 4, which is the the Northern part of the state, Aberdeen, Watertown area, and Region 5 which is NorthWestern/Center (lots of tiny counties.) are the regiosn I'm concerned about. Only need a total of 8 people from each region, but these are all tiny counties with highly disorganized GOPs so I'm actually kind of concerned that we'll make it. (Except for total of 10 from each the Rapid/City regions, but I'm thinking we'll be OK there.)

Also if we NO for sure that we've got at least 3 people from each county that are going to show up, I don't think it would be a bad idea to get our people on the undeclared slate also. But that's a decision you have to make before you go to the county caucus.
