South Carolina Election Returns - 19:00ET (1/21/12) - Official Thread

Gingrich came in fourth in two opening states, now he's on top - politics changes DAILY - if he can come back from fourth, we certainly can - especially considering Paul didn't even spend a lot of time here.
Yea, but we have a huge uphill battle... all of the establishment media against RON PAUL, TV, RADIO, PRINT, INTERNET.

It truly comes down to who looks/acts the presidential imagine facade and who has the Silver Tongue to command Public speech in captivating the audiences. Ron Lacks both and the others have stolen the principles of Ron's work for decades in just over the past month to play the people to soundbites.

Hmm, Romney is giving a concession speech before the votes come in, no doubt to steal media attention from Gingrich. LOL

+1. I try to make this point often -- none of us supported Paul until we were properly exposed to the message. We have a huge battle in getting that message to others, but it can be done -- we're doing it but slowly.

I became a Paul supporter about five minutes after hearing him speak in the first debate during the '08 cycle. Some people will never get it. A great number of those people -- I refer to them as "morons" -- live in South Carolina.

25 delegates at stake.. is that all?

This is going to be a long race - that favors Ron Paul. Hold it together people.

Quoting because it's the bottom line.

SC- we can lose it. No big deal. We didn't expect to win it. Only the 3rd state to vote, a warmongering state at that, and few delegates at stake. Perspective. :)

Thank you, though, to the South Carolinians who tried and a big thanks to the politicians there who had the balls to endorse Paul.

Romney is trying to show more fire, is desperate to turn this into an attack on Obama, desperate to use language that appeals to Ron Paul supporters.

Ron Paul cannot win a closed primary. Pay attention party leaders.

Ron Paul. Paper Tiger? If he can't take the Palmetto State, what can he take?

Romney going down tonight is VERY GOOD for us. Chinks in the armor. He's missing a scale on his under-belly.
Money-man is going to dump a bunch of cash in Florida to attack Gingrich. Florida is a black-hole. It's a Russian Winter to any campaign, and all these jokers (minus Ron Paul) is going to get bogged-down and their campaigns will be destroyed there.

Awesome.

It's not over, on the contrary it's only begun.

Remember people that the reason why the elections for the early states were moved up was because they wanted Romney to deliver a knockout punch to the entire field and get this race over quickly. The Machine knew that Romney could be exposed over time, and they knew that Ron had the fundraising to last the distance and wanted the narrative to be that the race was over and done with early so that Ron would lose support from GOP voters.

That decision has come back to bite them in the ass because Romney isn't running away with this thing early thanks to Ron's rising support and Gingrich's win in South Carolina. Add to that that the decision to move up the early elections meant a loss of half their delegates and the mistake becomes glaring. Romney now has to go the distance and compete out West and in Central U.S., plus he has to use up a lot of his money as he continues to battle Newt in Florida and Paul in the rest of the race. Romney now has a fight on his hands, which is the last thing the Machine wanted.

This is not over. Relax.
