Some Straight Talk to the Anti-Free Traders

The freedom and independence is that we are preserving liberty and security for the next generation.

Calling security a prison isn't logical.

Security is higher up on the list of needs than plastic goods that break down in our environment and cause infertility and lower sperm counts.

Giving up liberty doesn't preserve liberty. Liberty isn't something given to us by central planners.

By all means exercise your liberty not to buy plastic goods. If it's voluntary, that's liberty. If it's imposed on you by the government, it's not liberty.

LOL

Putting up walls when building a house restricts you, it also keeps you from being killed so you can continue to move around.
Americans are not restricted by tariffs, foreigners are, just as the heat, cold, and weather are what the walls of your house restricts.

I cant voluntarily not eat plastic it's in fucking everything.

It's in all of the food I can buy. The least toxic thing I can eat is beef because the cow filters most of the toxic stuff out.

It's in the water and everything else though.

It never breaks down completely in the environment it just gets smaller and smaller.

Trump is keeping a minimum 10% in place, and more as required for each nation.
And Free Trade is the crutch they have used to prevent the rollback of the regulatory and taxation oppression, it's all part of the same agenda.
I'm not really opposed to or for tarrifs. I just feel like if Trump is going to do, then do it and stick to it. I'm not a fan of the brinkmanship Trump often engages in.

Free trade is something that can potentially be good, but the situation with China has become so lopsided something had to be done. You are correct overregulation drove industry from the US to China leading to the problems we have now. So my point is that if this is how Trump wants to fix this problem he has to stick it. He can't keep raising and lowering the tarrifs. It would cause a lot of short term suffering in the US to lose our source of cheap goods. But we would eventually have no choice but to roll back regulations and restart manufacturing.

Yeah but if I don't want tonr estrict the heat with walls, and you vote for a guy to build a wall around me when I don't want it, then we have a name for those walls. A jail cell.

It was a jail cell long before that wall went up.

We're all prisoners in the same shared prison block. It's unfortunate that our decisions affect each other, but that's true both ways. We're all simply doing what we think is in our best interests and sometimes we'll disagree, and invariably, it leads to someone feeling negatively affected.

That's not a fault of the tariffs, that's a fault of the prison we all live in.

If you don't like it, then I encourage you, do something about it. Break out of the prison. Secede. Start a riot, overthrow the warden. Do something.

But there's not much point about complaining about being in prison when all of us are also in prison.

Tough cookies.
Collective defense is required, it's not a prison cell, it's a fortress.
