Some proof Ron Paul didn't write those letters.

The "writer" of the racist newslettes writes "I bought my first copy of the men's fashion magazine GQ..."

But in a conversation written in an article by the New York Times from this summer, Paul has no idea what that magazine is.

"“GQ wants to profile you on Thursday,” Benton continues. “I think it’s worth doing.”

“GTU?” the candidate replies.

“GQ. It’s a men’s magazine.”

“Don’t know much about that,” Paul says. "

Hopefully my quick google search can clear up some misconceptions people have about Paul.

Very nice. This is pretty substantial evidence.

it's not really substantial to someone looking at it objectively. They will just call him a liar or senile for saying that to NY Times...

That's great, for those who thought he actually wrote them. I, for one, am 99.9999% sure he didn't, but that doesn't go far enough. I want the campaign to find out who did (though, I think they already know) and then publicly announce this person/s will no longer be involved with the campaign (if they currently are).

Ron Paul has said he does not know. Ron Paul is the main channel through which the campaign would receive this information. Ron Paul has proven time and again to be a man of his word. Although he might indeed by lying, i'm willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt. He wouldnt try to lie on something of this magnitude, i'll bet. I think you're being a bit absurd here with your demands and your assumptions.

Well, YOU might be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and YOU might believe that he is a man of his word, but MOST of the American public DOES NOT know this. He is barely known by most Americans.

So, THIS is a major issue and it will not go away. I think it will bring the campaign down. Quickly. I am very saddened about it. I convinced all of my family and most of my friends to vote for Ron Paul, and many times I said "he has no skeletons in his closet".

I am truly embarrassed about this.

Whether he wrote that stuff or not, he PUBLISHED it under HIS NAME.

"I've urged everyone in my family to know how to use a gun in self defense. For the animals are coming."

One of the lines in the racist newsletters

"Ron Paul is deeply square, and every bit as deeply committed to your right not to be. “I don’t gamble, but I’m the gambler’s best friend,” he says, boasting of his support for online casinos. He is a Second Amendment absolutist who doesn’t own a gun. “I’ve only fired one a couple of times in my life. I’ve never gotten around to killing anything.”"

From Tucker's article

Here is a link to that story, on TNR no less, lol :D

It's really obvious that whoever wrote it is a friend of Ron Paul and while Ron Paul also obviously doesn't agree or even approve of the sentiment (just as he doesn't agree with Buchanan on protectionism), he doesn't want to out one of his friends as a racist. Give it up.

Fine, let's play their game and go through these things with a fine comb like has been done here so far, and show how it's completely against everything he has ever said, before and after, and how, in some instances, it cannot be him speaking.

You know, I think that's probably it. He's too nice.
